This week, actors
Michael Trucco and
Kate Vernon both hinted that they'd like to appear in
Caprica, the
Battlestar Galactica prequel series.
The former
BSG stars say it's possible for their characters, Sam Anders and Ellen Tigh, to appear on
Caprica, which takes place roughly fifty years before the events of
BSG.
The uncut, two-hour long
Caprica pilot hit DVD last month, but the series won't premiere on Sci Fi Channel until 2010. Should Anders and Ellen be a part of it? (
BSG spoilers after the jump!)

Good news everyone. It seems that this whole movie thing is working out quite nicely for the folks over at Sci Fi. Executive VP of original programming for Sci Fi, Mark Stern, now also counts himself as co-head of the newly formed Universal Cable Productions. Why should we care? Because at the end of the day that means a little more Battlestar Galactica.
The success of Razor is a big part of this. Stern describes it as doing "phenomenally well in the international and DVD market." It's led to a whole new way of financing and creating entertainment for the network. The new Battlestar project will air after the series completes its run next year. Edward James Olmos is on board to direct, and he'll have a script by Jane Espenson to work with. Both nice choices. Casting is still up in the air at the moment. So far, Michael Trucco (Anders), Aaron Douglas (Tyrol), and Dean Stockwell (Cavil) are confirmed.
The story is prequel-esque. It goes back to just after the Cylon destruction of human home worlds. We'll follow the Cylons as they deal with human survivors, aboard ships as well as on planets. There is also a hint that the movie will focus specifically on two of the Cylon agents.

After a log day of being in Hall H and Ballroom 20, things started to come to an end for the busiest day of the 'Con with the
Battlestar Galactica panel. Basically, if didn't already have your arse planted in a seat in Ballroom 20 for that panel, you weren't getting to see
BSG. I'm either completely dedicated to the coverage for TV Squad or a complete fanboy for the show. I submit that I'm likely both.
I'm not going to post the full, detailed report yet, as Sci Fi has told me we'll have embeddable video to show you soon (
here it is on SciFI.com). Seriously, there's no way I can put to justice the funny job that Kevin Smith did as moderator -- you have to see and hear it for yourself. I will, however, submit to you the highlights for now.

Use the comment form below to submit your questions and we'll give the best ones to the moderator to ask. We'll post the answers to those questions and others as soon as we can get to a WiFi hotspot and post away. You've got until this Thursday morning to send in your questions, so ask away!

Okay, I'm finally back from the New York Comic-Con and I still smell like the Javits Convention Center. Fandom seeps into the deepest layers of one's skin and take at least a few weeks to wash out. It's a scientific fact.
The first panel I attended wasn't even TV-related. Worrying that the
Battlestar Galactica room would fill before I could even step into the line, I sat through the preceding panel for
Wall-E and
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian to guarantee a seat. As it turns out, the theater is absolutely huge and two big screens were on either side of the stage, so my worry was kind of pointless. I was reminded of what I already knew:
Wall-E looks insanely cute,
Chronicles of Narnia has a greasy-haired new guy and the Jesus lion again. However, this is when I began to play a game that lasted throughout the entire weekend: Analyze the differing levels of scary devotion throughout various fanbases!

And it's Michael Trucco (
Battlestar Galactica). Once this pesky strike gets over with,
NBC will start production on its new comedy
The Man of Your Dreams, starring the aforementioned Trucco as Larry, a womanizing man who uses the knowledge he's gained to help romantically troubled women. He is joined by Constance Zimmer (
Boston Legal) as his sister, who is a single mother running a wedding-planning business. Her business partner is played by Justina Machada (
Six Feet Under). Christina Chang (
CSI: Miami) is a proud gold-digger while RonReaco Lee (
Committed) plays a
Star Wars "buff," who is Larry's protégé.

When you see Lt.
Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on the season premiere of Battlestar Galactica this fall you'll notice a few
things. First, her hair will be very, very short. Second, she will not be with the same man she was with at the end of
last season.
This is according to Katee Sackhoff, who portrays Starbuck on the very popular Sci-Fi Channel
series. In an interview on Zap2it.com,
Sackhoff reveals that she will go through some very tough times in the first four episodes of the new season. By the
fifth episode she will recommit herself to her military career and sport a nifty crew cut to go along with her new
attitude.
Starbuck will also have a new love interest other than the man who she married during the second
season finale. It's unsure if Samuel T. Anders (Michael Trucco) dies of the pneumonia he suffers during the finale, or
while he resists the Cylon occupation.
Production on the third season of Battlestar Galactica began on
April 10 and will continue until December, with the Sci-Fi Channel premiere in October.
