The new TV season has produced at least one breakout star for sure -- Kyle Bornheimer. On
Worst Week, CBS's new entry in its solid sitcom block on Monday nights, Bornheimer has made his mark and the show is proving a ratings hit.
Kyle's every guy, not too bright, essentially sweet character on
Worst Week, Sam Briggs, fits him like a glove. It's his ability to deliver the physical comedy as well as the self-deprecating lines with a knowing smile that has made him endearing.
Kyle Bornheimer has one of those really recognizable faces. You might remember having seen him in
Jericho or
Breaking Bad or
The Unit. He's been kicking around for the past few years, searching for a role that would give him a chance to shine. That's what he's found in
Worst Week.

When 10PM rolls around, it's generally not a pleasant time for NBC. Mostly it's where the network goes to get its hat handed to it by somebody. What the strategy is for the 10 o'clock slot boggles me. So far, my best explanation sounds like the plot from a bad
Lucy episode.
Imagine Lucy and Ethel get a gig cleaning the offices at NBC. Some crazy hijinks erupt and somehow all the shows get knocked off of the big magnetic schedule board. They do their best to try and put them back, but it seems they have mixed up a few of the shows at 10. The executives all come in the next day and everyone assumes that someone else made the change. Not wanting to rock the boat, they all just roll with it, to the detriment of the shows and the network. Here's what Lucy and Ethel got wrong, and what NBC needs to fix.

It's a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Week! Charlie Brown, where have you been all these years? We've been missing you. We usually see you at the major holidays, like Christmas and Halloween, but to be honest those visits seem repetitive. What else have you been up to? Sure, you've taken some trips and had some valentines and such, but we've come to expect more Charlie Brown, and quite frankly, we need you these days. Please think about giving us
Charlie Brown's Democratic Presidential Election, or something equally topical and timely.
10 Zen Monkeys has compiled a
list of Charlie Brown's five worst cartoon moments. Check it out on their site which comes complete with YouTube embedded video and spot-on commentary. Continue onto see my thoughts about the list:

Can you believe that Ford actually created a convertible in the 1950s with a system that was so easy to use even a woman could operate it? No, kidding, an honest to goodness woman. Anyway, that's the premise of this retro commercial featuring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz of
I Love Lucy. Apparently women didn't develop the basic motor skills needed to push a button until the latter half of the 20th century. You gotta love the whole atavistic vibe of the ad, from Ricky telling Lucy she's better suited to taking ice cubes out of the freezer to the salesman only addressing Ricky and not even acknowledging Lucy. Check out the clip after the jump.

So let me get this straight: not only did Lucy announce last night that she and her husband were going to have twins, her sister Mary came back and announced she and her husband were going to have twins? And also brother Matt came back and announced
his wife was pregnant with twins too? And they're parents had twins?
Oh, come on!
I know that twins run in families, but this was, like, nutso. Have they been going through some weird scientific experiments or something? It was as if the writers said, "you know, a happy ending to the show isn't enough, let's make it a double happy ending!"
