Earlier this week, ABC posted a surprise Lost audio podcast. There wasn't another podcast scheduled until after the airing of "Ji Yeon," but Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse decided to do one anyway. As usual, Lost's executive producers rehashed "The Other Woman," responded to fans' questions, and previewed "Ji Yeon." Spoiler Warning: The ending of the Lost: Via Domus video game is discussed, so stop reading if you want to be surprised. Here's a brief recap of the podcast:
-
Two of the final five episodes' scripts are finished, and the writers are currently working on the third.
-
The season finale will be two hours long, and the episode will be split up over two weeks.

ABC recently posted another Lost audio podcast for this week's episode, "The Constant." Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse reviewed the newest Lost episode as well as last week's "Eggtown," answered fan questions, and previewed "The Other Woman." Since they skipped a podcast last week, Lindelof and Cuse revealed much more information and dealt with more questions than an average podcast. Here's a recap:
-
Due to the writers' strike,
Lost's sixteen-episode season was
cut to thirteen episodes. The storylines for the eight episodes intended for the second half of the season will be "compressed" into five episodes. The remaining three episodes will be added to the final two seasons of the show.

After a long absence, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof are back with their first Lost podcast of Season Four. The show's executive producers rehashed "The Economist," answered fan questions, and previewed "Eggtown." Cuse and Lindelof will try to do a regular weekly podcast, but said that there may be fewer podcasts once production on the final five episodes gets busier. Here's a recap:
- Although there is a theory going around that Kate is living under an assumed name and isn't one of the Oceanic Six, Lindelof and Cuse confirmed that she is, in fact, one of the Six.
- We will learn the identity of the other two members of the Oceanic Six relatively soon, well before the season finale.

The newest Lost video podcast is up and running on ABC's Lost page. This week, cast members Naveen Andrews and Michael Emerson were on hand to discuss "The Economist." Both actors had a lot of say about the shocking events that occurred in the episode's flash-forward. They also shared their views on their characters as well as how the flash-forward segments have changed the show. Here's a recap:

The video podcast for "Confirmed Dead" is up on ABC's Lost page. This week, costume designer Roland Sanchez discussed the costume choices for some of the new characters that appeared in Thursday's episode. This was another short behind the scenes video, but hopefully the rumored end to the strike will bring Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse back for some meatier podcasts. Here's a recap:
- The show's wardrobe department keeps at least a dozen versions of Jack's classic blue T-shirt. Sanchez chose that shade of blue because he didn't think that Jack would wear a "happy" color.

The first Lost video podcast of season four was just posted on ABC's Lost website. With a running time of three minutes, it's really more of a mini-podcast. Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse do not make an appearance, sadly. ABC did, however, provide fans with a nice little Easter egg from one of the scenes in "The Beginning of the End." Here's a brief synopsis:
- Co-Executive Producer Jean Higgins showed us the making of the scene where Hurley has a vision of Charlie swimming underwater.

ABC just released the newest Lost audio podcast, which was once again hosted by executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. The podcast features a short interview with Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond), details about "Flashes Before Your Eyes," and information about "Stranger in a Strange Land," which airs Wednesday night. Here's what we learned:
- Henry Ian Cusick considers Desmond to be a quieter, less conventional hero. He also prefers to be called Ian.
- Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse admit that Desmond's episode was not a "flashback" in the traditional sense. Desmond was allowed to make choices within his own past, but was course-corrected by Fionnula Flanagan's character (the woman in the jewelry store).

The newest Lost audio podcast was released yesterday, which included some revealing details about the show. If you don't want to listen to the 22 minutes of banter between producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, here's a review of the major points:
- In a short interview, Josh Holloway mentioned that while the writing team comes up with Sawyer's snappy nicknames, the actor himself gives people nicknames in everyday life. According to Holloway, the writers often like to incorporate the cast members' personalities into their characters. He also wants more nicknames to stick around the way that Freckles has.
- There is actually a class at Tufts University that lists the Lost podcasts as required "reading." Has the world come to an end?

For those of you who love behind-the-scenes details, ABC has just posted a new Lost audio podcast on its website. As usual, the podcast is hosted by producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, and includes a recap of "Not in Portland." Fans can also get a sense of what to expect from this week's Desmond-centric episode, "Flashes Before Your Eyes." Among the more interesting details: Ben might not be Alex's biological father; there will be at least one more episode on Alcatraz (where Jack is being held); and, the dreaded Nikki and Paulo will be getting more screen time. In addition, Josh Holloway sheds light on Sawyer's nicknaming habit in a short interview.
