(S03E05) This episode switched things up a bit. Instead of the other way around, the models chose the designers they wanted. Of course, some of the designers were uncomfortable with the feeling of not being in control in this situation. Their anxiety was made even worse when the designers were challenged to re-create a look for a fashion icon... a fashion icon that they'd have no say in choosing. Their models picked from a selection of icons, ranging from Madonna to Katharine Hepburn to Twiggy. Some designers were ecstatic with their assignments, others were totally clueless (cough cough, his name starts with a "B" and ends with "Radley").Keith Michael-related stories

Project Runway: Reap What You Sew
(S03E04) The designers were challenged to create a three-piece outfit for the INC clothing company. The winning outfit would be sold in Macy's stores nationwide. Surprisingly, they had to work in teams of three. Gosh, we're only four episodes in and half of the challenges have been in teams! I'm not sure I like this trend... I prefer individual challenges because it's easier to judge talent. With these team challenges, one of the biggest factors in winning is being able to pass the buck.Anyway, Mehmet Tangoren from Macy's stopped by and picked the four team leaders: Robert, Bonnie, Keith, and Angela (!!!).

Project Runway: A Designer's Best Friend
(S03E03) The designers were told to design something for one of fashion's hottest accessories. I had a few guesses... The accessory would either be an iPod, a baby (well, maternity clothes), or pets. I was right with my third guess because the designers were each given a small dog to serve as a muse. Their challenge: Design an outfit for their dog, a complimentary outfit for their model, and think up a narrative explanation for their creation. The narrative part seemed kind of pointless to me, but, hey, I'm no Heidi Klum.Oh, and I just have to say this because I'm so excited... Someone's getting kicked off for being naughty in the next episode. Scandal!

Project Runway: Miss USA
(S03E02) The absolutely stunning special guest Miss USA, Tara Conner, asked the designers to create a dress for her Miss Universe appearance. Her only requests: yes to earth-tones, no to white, backless is a plus. What an amazing opportunity! Especially this early in the game. All fourteen designers presented sketches to Tara, but she chose only seven to be created. The seven chosen designers had to pick teammates. Angela was incredibly annoying because she kept bugging at Kayne to pick her. Everyone in the room heard her, so she ended up being chosen last... by Vincent (and she had to correct him when he called her "Alison"... Insult to injury, yeah?).Continue reading Project Runway: Miss USA
Project Runway: Wall to Wall Fashion (season premiere)
(S03E01) What a crazy start to a new season. Already, I've been outraged (I'll explain later). This challenge started almost right after the designers met Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn for a little champagne to celebrate their first day. They were told to create an outfit defining their personality with absolutely anything from their brand new apartments. Armed with scissors and their greedy hands, the designers totally ripped their beautiful apartments into pieces. Shower curtains came down, couches were skinned, lamps were attacked, and cushions were destroyed. Sigh. It looked like so much fun. I was green with envy.Continue reading Project Runway: Wall to Wall Fashion (season premiere)
