Big Brother 10: Eviction #2 and HOH #3

Libra in the Big Brother 10 house

(S10E06) "I've been on slop for two weeks. I've lost 12 pounds." - Libra

As Julie Chen was quick to say, the ghost of Brian lives on in the Big Brother 10 house. This week's nominees are Steven and Dan. Both had allied with Brian right from the start. We know what happened to Brian. I think it was deserved as Brian grew too cocky too soon. Steven ended up voting with the house while Dan stayed loyal to Brian. Will that be the deciding factor in tonight's eviction?

Big Brother 10: PoV Competition #2

Jessie, the current HOH in the Big Brother 10 house
(S10E05) "At 22, I'm the youngest person in the house. I've won every competition so far and I don't have a target on my back!" - Jessie

Well, for some odd reason it appears that Jessie indeed doesn't have a target on his back inside the Big Brother 10 house. Maybe it's just the Year of the Stupid or something. Little does he know that there seems to be a big target on his back with the internet crowd. I personally would like to see both his inflated ego and his inflated body deflate like a popped balloon. POP! To dream, to dream.

Big Brother 10: Nomination Ceremony #2

Steven, the gay rodeo champion
(S10E04) Tonight, we learned a valuable lesson in hamster survival. Going to see the HOH's bedroom is the best play a hamster can make in this game. Find out who got nominated under Jessie's rule and who's on slop for the week after the jump.

Big Brother: Eviction #1 and HOH #1

Dan feels all alone on Big Brother 10
(S10E03) "I'm dumbfounded. My alliance has gone down in flames." - Dan

Tonight's Big Brother 10 live eviction show felt a bit like a finale. Well, for one houseguest, it was a finale. But I'm referring to the live audience outside of the house. When Julie Chen mentioned it, I recalled it was indeed that way in the first season. However, it still came across as a bit odd even though I was aware it would be happening. I don't know. I think I'd rather be in the studio audience for The Late Show with David Letterman and be entertained just a bit more. It could just be me, I guess.

Jerry is the first HOH of the BB10 season
(S10E02) "You have to know the story of King Solomon." - Jerry

Jerry didn't want to be the first head of house on Big Brother 10. He was voted to the position and had no choice in the matter. But is he in a position akin to King Solomon offering to tear a baby in half to settle matters? I can only think he takes this all very seriously. It's all fun and games until someone gets evicted, right?

Big Brother 10: HOH competition #1 (season premiere)

Keesha from Big Brother 10(S10E01) We were spoiled this year with Big Brother. The winter season of BB was arguably the only good thing to come out of the WGA strike (if you're a sucker for low-brow television like me). And now it's back again in its regular summer schedule.

Speaking of schedules, Jackie and I will be covering the show this summer. I'll be doing Sunday episodes with Jackie covering Tuesday and Wednesday. You can also count of TV Squad for Jackie's Live Feed Reports and I might post a few updates from Big Brother After Dark which airs on ShoToo (I knew there was a reason I added Showtime to my cable bill. And I thought I was just getting The Tudors and Secret Diary of a Call Girl.)

Okay, let's get to what happened last night.

Six Big Brother 10 cast interviews - VIDEOS

Julie Chen wearing Devo glasses in the BB10 houseAh, it's that time again. Hamster watchers around the world are poised to hit that Big Brother 10 live feeds icon on their computers. The show premiered tonight, back to its summer season and, supposedly, back to its roots -- strangers living in a house. That's right. No previous relationships, no estranged family members, just strangers in the house. To spice things up, it looks like the production staff sought out opposite personalities in respect to political issues. I don't know how keen I am on that aspect, but you know I'll be watching.

Hey, if the ChenBot is wearing Devo glasses, it should be an interesting season, right? Video cast interviews beyond the jump!

Big Brother 10 house tour - VIDEO

Julie Chen is still hosting Big Brother as we enter the tenth seasonThe house is freshly redone. And, as I write this, the houseguests are probably already inside so that the staff can gather footage for the Sunday night season premiere of Big Brother 10. Alas, the feeds won't go live until after the premiere.

Each season the house is redone usually with a theme in mind. Last season was a wood cabin camping kind of aura. The season before was some whacked Alice in Wonderland theme which went kerflooey as they did little with the theme with the exception of the decor. Before the new hamsters went into their cage, CBS allowed cameras to take a tour of the now house.

What's the latest? Read on past the jump and watch the video!

Big Brother 10 - News, rumors, and speculation

Big Brother 10 starts July 13Well, folks ... it's countdown time! Big Brother 10 premieres on Sunday, July 13 at 8 PM ET/PT. As I write this, casting has been completed but no formal announcements have been made. I will assure you that I won't be in the house this season although I'll be your fly on the wall. You can get your live feed reports here at TV Squad. So, in a way, I'll be in the house. But not in a way that the folks on the internet can rip me apart!

Despite the show being just two weeks away, there is little concrete news. But there are plenty of rumors and speculations floating about. Read on past the jump for scheduling news and lots of rumors.

Six reality TV classic moments from Big Brother 1 - VIDEOS

Big Brother 2000 castAs we approach the start of a new summer season of Big Brother (July 13), I found myself thinking back to the past. Oh, not the recent past -- I think I want to forget Big Brother 9 if I can. I'm talking about when the series made its debut here in the United States.

The show wasn't actually called Big Brother 1 at the time. It was Big Brother 2000. The live feeds were free to all who had internet access, there were only ten houseguests, no "twists," and the viewers voted off a houseguest each week. Some folks thought it was as interesting as watching paint dry. But, for those of us about to become BB addicts, there were definitely some classic moments.

More presenters announced for the Tonys

Tony AwardCBS has secured even more celebrities to grace the stage at Radio City Music Hall next Sunday. Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment), Julie Chen (Big Brother), Harry Connick, Jr. (Will & Grace), Laurence Fishburne, Mandy Patinkin (Criminal Minds), David Hyde Pierce, Lily Tomlin and John Waters (Til Death Do Us Part) have been added as presenters. These actors and actresses (and, er, Julie Chen) will join an already stellar list of presenters and host Whoopi Goldberg.

I have to admit it. I'm getting a little excited for The Tonys. I usually find them boring. The performances are fantastic but the awards in between are a bit of a snore. However, this cast of presenters is intriguing. I'll at least be flipping back and forth hoping to catch the performances and my favorite stars.

The 62nd Annual Tony Awards will be held on Sunday June 15th from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. ET on CBS.

Big Brother 9 winners talk to Julie Chen

Adam, winner of BB9, picks at his teethLast night Adam won $500,000 on Big Brother 9. Now, I know I heard Julie Chen tell them she'd be giving Adam his check and Ryan his winnings of $50,000 on The Early Show as is the standard practice. So, I turned on TV as I was heading out the door to my day job only to hear them say that Julie Chen has the day off today. Huh? I didn't bother recording as they didn't mention BB9 at all.

But there they were -- taped after the finale last night. I found the video of the interview on the CBS website. It's not embeddable, but if you follow me after the jump, I'll bring up some of the main points ... or, at least the ones I found interesting!

Big Brother 9: Season Finale

Big Brother 9 draws to an end.
(S09E35) Since Big Brother 9 is so into recaps at the beginning of each show -- and they briefly recapped the whole season at the start of tonight's finale -- I think a recap of what it's been like for an observer is in order, don't you? Let's see how quickly I can do it:

Oh, no! Writers on strike! Quick, get together a Big Brother winter season, make it couples, make it all about sex, get those ratings! Oh, no! The couples are flopping, go to singles, lose the "Til Death Do You Part" titling, sex isn't working, horrible hamsters! Make Sheila cry some more! Phew, it's D-U-N.

Big Brother face off: Adam vs. Ryan

Big BrotherI've been an avid fan of Big Brother since it first premiered on CBS. I watched all seasons but one so far (I was away for one summer with no access to a TV) and started reading up on the live feeds last summer. One of the things I like to do when watching is trying to predict who'll be evicted next. So even if Jackie put a "Who will have the jury votes to win Big Brother 9?" in her review of Wednesday's episode, I decided to chime in and give my two cents about both players and make my own prediction. Is my vote the same as yours? Read on!
