Being Oprah's buddy is never bad for one's career. And like former frequent guest stars Rachael Ray and Dr. Phil, now actress, author and former
Playboy playmate
Jenny McCarthy is poised to be the next "Big O" thing. She has inked a multiplatform deal with Harpo Productions to develop projects of all different kinds, including a talk show of her very own.
While her career may have started in nudity and comedy, she's more recently become known for her books, and her activism in the fight against autism, which her son has.

There aren't many actresses out there that you could affectionately call a "broad," but Megan Mullally's one of them. Ever since she came on the scene a decade ago as the caustic and spoiled Karen Walker on
Will & Grace, Mullally has shown that she can be bawdy with the best of them.
Now, after a foray into the talk show world and a turn as a disabled and ugly -- but desirable -- chief of medicine on Rob Corddry's web series
Children's Hospital, Mullally is back on series TV, on ABC's new comedy
In The Motherhood (premiering Thursday at 8 PM ET), which was based on a
web series that took episode ideas from submissions by real moms. In the series, Mullally plays Rosemary, a "bad ass," as Mullally calls her, who has raised the perfect son even though she's an imperfect mom.
In this quickie interview, Mullally talks about the new show, about a rumor that she was in a catfight with her co-star Cheryl Hines, about how Rosemary and Karen could be the new Odd Couple, and running her Kerry Weaver-esque
Children's Hospital character past Laura Innes.

(S02E13) Memo to NBC: Idea for
product placement on
Chuck. All the computers and cell phones are great, but what about Excedrin, Tylenol or Advil? In this episode alone, Chuck's brain activated the Intersect so many times that he should have needed something extra strength to deal with the killer headache he had to have had when he finally got out of the top secret Fulcrum initiation lab. I was ready to reach for two tablets myself, what with all the flashing and colors and weird old stock footage.
Anyway, this was the Happy Valentine's Day show, which is why last week's pre-empted episode was re-slotted so this one could land in closer proximity to the holiday. It made sense, then, for there to be some good Chuck and Sarah flirting. Not flirting with each other, just flirting with the idea of them flirting with a real relationship. It looked good there for a while. More after the jump.

The name Melissa McCarthy doesn't ring a bell? No, she's not Jenny McCarthy's sister (she's her cousin). You probably know Melissa under the name Sookie St.James, Lorelai's best friend on
Gilmore Girls.
This gifted actress has appeared in over 20 different TV and movie projects in the past 10 years but mostly devoted her time to
Gilmore, appearing in more than 150 episodes of the series.
The 37-year-old actress from Plainfield, Illinois, first performed on stage. She started her acting career by doing stand up and improv in New York. She attended The Actors Studio, where she studied drama. This led to a bunch of acting gigs in stage productions. When she moved to Los Angeles, the actress joined
The Groundlings as a main cast member of this improv and sketch troupe.

I'm curious about how all of you will
react to this news. There were a lot of unkind words written when
I told you about a possible
talk show for Patricia Heaton a while back. Well, she's also doing a comedy next season for ABC. And, Jenny McCarthy
signed on to co-star. I'm trying to think of two more annoying people, but I just can't.
The comedy, by the
way, is currently untitled. It's about a widow (Heaton) who "finds friends and a new path to life through the
PTA." Because a grieving family is hi-larious.

That's because she and her husband, director John Asher, filed for divorce in Los Angeles.
This article says that McCarthy "currently stars in UPN's The Bad Girl's Guide." Wow, is that actually still on the air?
