(S02E01) For those who have seen the DVD-and-iTunes-only episode of
Dollhouse (
"Epitaph One") which deals with an apocalyptic future, we're not there yet. Instead, this episode (written and directed by Joss Whedon) deals with Paul Ballard using his connections to the Dollhouse to go after an arms dealer that he couldn't put away as a simple FBI agent.
We see the beginnings of the Boyd Langton/Doctor Saunders relationship hinted at in "Epitaph One," but once again, considering that Amy Acker has a limited appearance this season in order to go to
Happy Town, she was the highlight of this episode. I honestly hope that show fails, so that Amy will be around this one more for next season. Is that wrong?

Apollo has landed ... in Joss Whedon's
Dollhouse. The first (very tiny)
promo pics of the season premiere of
Dollhouse, "Vows," have popped up online. The pics feature former
Battlestar Galactica cast member Jamie Bamber apparently tying the knot with Eliza Dushku's Echo.
The ep follows Echo on her latest engagement as the bride of a wealthy financier who might be involved in arms trafficking. The engagement is set up by do-gooder and former FBI agent Paul, played by Bamber's former
Battlestar co-star Tahmoh Penikett, who wants to use the Dollhouse to do some good for the world.

Michael Hogan isn't done with
Battlestar Galactica just yet. The actor who played the show's hardest drinking toaster will appear in the upcoming
BSG TV movie
The Plan, directed by Edward James Olmos. Hogan is sticking with sci-fi for his next two TV outings, a possible recurring role on
Syfy's Warehouse 13 and a
guest spot on Dollhouse.
Hogan will join former
BSG actor and
Dollhouse cast member Tahmoh Penikett in a season two episode of
Dollhouse. He won't be the only
BSG alum guest starring on
Dollhouse this year. Jamie Bamber, who played Apollo, will show up in the season premiere, set to air September 25.

I'm a huge
Law & Order fan, and as such, I am quite jealous of the Brits today. Not only are they getting their very own
Law & Order, called
Law & Order: UK, but
Battlestar Galactica's
Jamie Bamber is set to star. Bamber, who just ended his role as Apollo on the Sci Fi Network series, is playing one of the main detectives, along with fellow Englander, Bradley Walsh.
According to Bamber,
L&O's UK edition is just like the American version, but will be about "London judiciary and London cops. It's got the same premise as the original American
Law & Order, same everything, just with a UK production company and UK actors."
The series is slated to begin production in August and will air on the UK channel ITV. There's no word as to whether or not it will jump the pond and be available to American audiences, but I'd definitely be interested to see how this long-running series translates overseas.

Attention, TV Squad readers, my friends and fellow television fans, it's time to announce the winner for The Excellence in Outsourcing Award, that is, the foreign actor who possesses the best American accent. There were many worthy nominees, but the overwhelming winner was
House, MD himself, actor Hugh Laurie. That Englishman, one of her majesty's loyal subjects, has been making us all believe that he's just a Jersey boy. As Dr. Gregory House of Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, he sounds like he was born in south Jersey, spent his summers in Asbury Park, and is as much a Garden Stater as Bruce Springsteen and Tony Soprano.
