Three Zachs
...three Zachs for viewing.

Perhaps it's just coincidence, but right now our TV world has a trio of superb young actors in very different programs and they're all named Zach. Coincidence or the fact that the year they were born, Zachary was a really popular name for baby boys? Whatever, the bottom line is that Zach Braff, Zachary Levi, and Zachary Quinto are terrific and Scrubs, Chuck and Heroes, respectively, wouldn't be the same without them.

What's really interesting about these three Zachs, beside the fact that they all share the same first name, is that they could probably all play each other's roles -- even though it's hard to imagine Braff or Levi as evil, they're good enough to do it. And Zachary Quinto has done the nerdy, computer guy when he was on 24.

It's interesting, but if you squint a little and tilt your head, they all could look like they're brothers. However, while the Three Zs may pass as the Three Amigos if you put them in sombreros, they are definitely making the TV world a much happier landscape.

All Anna wants for Festivus

festivusThis is my third Festivus at TV Squad and, in past years, just a few of my wishes have come true. For instance: a Kate and Sawyer hook-up on Lost, another season of My Name is Earl, and a little faith in Scrubs from NBC. All those came true after my first Festivus, last year's wish list wasn't really granted. And, CBS has yet to kill off a main character on CSI. Sara almost died, but didn't. Drat!

This year, all I really want for Festivus is for the writers to get a fair shake and for my favorite shows to return to television. But, since that's kind-of a downer, I made a list that's a little more fun.

Scrubs: My Half Acre/Her Story II

mandy moore scrubs dark hairWe interrupt Chris' regularly scheduled review of Scrubs to bring you my views and musings on NBC's brilliant gem. I'm going to be reviewing both of last night's episodes in one review, which works out nicely since they flowed more or less as one story. They both centered around guest star Mandy Moore as JD's new girlfriend. A case of art imitating life since these two are dating (and rumored to be engaged) in real life. I'm sure it's the same for girls, but guys have a couple of different groupings for their celebrity crushes. There's the *ahem* fantasies of Angelina Jolie, Shakira, and Keira Knightley, and then you've got those girls that you just wish you had as your girlfriend; Natalie Portman, Reece Witherspoon and Keira Knightley (what can I say, I've got a thing for her). Very high a top that latter list for most guys is Mandy Moore. She just comes across as one of the generally sweetest girls you could ever hope to meet, and these episodes certainly helped cement that persona. I hate Zach Braff. On with the show!
