What do you do if you're dad is a wrestling icon, your mom is a cougar dating a man the same age as you, and
your little brother is in jail for reckless driving? You get
your own reality show, of course. And who's reality is more messed up than Brooke Hogan's right now? She's surprisingly the most normal of that bunch.
Her new show,
Brooke Knows Best, premieres this Sunday July 13th at 10 p.m. ET / PT. That's right after
I Love Money!
I've got a sneak peek at the first episode after the jump...

Now, that
Nick Hogan is cozied up in a new cell for his prison sentence,
his father might be joining him. VH1's Matthew Muro is reporting that Linda Hogan, the Hulkster's estranged wife, wants to send the former pro-wrestler to jail for not paying his portion of a Las Vegas condo, a property worth 4.2 milion dollars. If Linda gets her wishes, Hulk Hogan would be put in Pinellas County Jail in Florida, the very same jail that holds his son.
VH1 offers the following as reasons why Hulk has not paid his bills: "Is he short on cash? Probably not. Is he planning to hit the slammer intentionally to protect little Nick? No way. Or could it be that he's trying to cut off Linda's cash flow so that she can't lavish any more gifts on her 19-year-old boy toy? Bingo!!"

The Hulkster's son, in jail for a driving accident that put his friend in a coma, just got moved last Friday into a new jail cell. He was serving
his eight-month prison sentence in solitary confinement after pleading no contest to the three charges: reckless driving, drunk driving, and having tinted windows on his Supra.
In a conversation with his mother, Linda Hogan, Nick (real last name Bollea) described the jail cell as half the size of his bathroom with no windows. According to
Nancy Grace, the cell measures 12 X 16. Nick's new digs include a cable television, unlimited phone use, a snack bar, and three other juvenille inmates. According to the Sherrif's office, he was being held in solitary confinement becuase he is seventeen and therefore too young to be with the rest of the criminal population. His lawyers apparently
filed a lawsuit against the sheriff's office saying that the decision to keep their client in solitary confinement is a violation of his privacy.
What do you think? Should Nick have stayed in solitary confinement until July 27th, his eighteenth birthday?

On August 26th, Hulk Hogan's son Nick was
terribly injured in a car crash in Florida. Also in the crash was Nick's friend, John Graziano, who was critically injured after the car smashed into the median, flipped over and finally crashed into a palm tree. Later that fall, the wrestling champ's son was
charged with reckless driving, having a blood alcohol level of .02 or higher and having tinted windows on his Toyota Supra.
On May 9th, after pleading "no contest," Nick Hogan (nee Bollea) was
sentenced to eight months in prison. He was also charged with five years probation and one hundred hours community service per year. In addition,
Nick must attend a DUI school and is forbidden to drink alcohol for the duration of his probation. Hulk and daughter Brooke begged the judge for leniency but John's family and girlfriend asked for punishment. His mother said, "I'm not seeking revenge. Only justice." John was in a coma after the accident and will probably need lifelong care.
What do you think? Does the punishment fit the crime?

NBC unveiled its schedule for the new year and, with scripted episodes becoming scarce, it is predictably heavier on the reality side. Joining existing shows Deal or No Deal and The Singing Bee are the returning 1 vs. 100, The Biggest Loser and The Apprentice. Returning after almost fifteen years, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan hosts American Gladiators. In it, eight "gladiators" face competition from everyday joes like you and me in a variety of physical challenges. Of course, when I say "like you and me" I mean you. Me they'd snap in half but I got a good feeling about you. I think you can take 'em. Now get in there, tiger!

VH1's popular reality series
Hogan Knows Best returns for a third season on Sunday, October 22 at 9pm. The new season will see the family make the move from Clearwater to Miami as daughter Brooke prepares to release her first album and son Nick continues to delve into the sport of drift racing and make a name for himself in the sport. A special online series "Hogans Revealed" will debut on VH1's VSPOT site the same time the episodes air, and a special sneak peek of the episodes will also air on the site four days before they air on television. If you're thinking of having a family of your own some day and think the only way you can learn how it's done is to watch an aging wrestler with lots of money do it in front of a camera crew, then by cracky, this show was made just for you. Personally, I take all my child rearing advice from Randy "Macho Man" Savage, but to each his own.

Some people love it, some people loathe it, but VH1's
block of CelebReality shows must be doing pretty good ratings-wise for the channel, because they are constantly adding
new programs to the lineup. While I do enjoy
Best Week Ever and the occasional episodes of
Hogan Knows
Best and
Surreal Life, I can't say that I'm really hooked on any of the shows, Lord help me, until
now.
The newest addition to the VH1 family,
So NoTORIous, stars Tori Spelling as Tori Spelling and
is an odd little blending of sitcom and reality. She pokes fun of herself, her life, her insanely powerful father and
eccentric mother non-stop, and I loved every second of it. I have a soft spot in my heart for celebrities that don't
take themselves seriously and have no problems with making fun of themselves (David Hasselhoff, William Shatner, Pamela
Anderson, etc).
There was
news recently that Tori's
parents are considering suing her in real life because of her jabs at her mother's eBay addiction on the show, so one
could probably assume that this is probably hitting a "little too close to home." It's been a while since
I've kicked back with Aaron Spelling, so I'm not sure if he's still that way, but I'd venture to say yes. I do know
that I'll be tuning in every week to see how the former Beverly Hills princess fairs out in the real world.

So, this is the second Monday morning (er, is 11:35 a.m. morning?) that I've woke up to find that there is no new episode of
Hogan Knows Best on my DVR. No, it's not the end of the world, but the Hulkster and his brethren are definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. As the Macho Man would say (circa 1986), "Hogan. You better get in the ring. Yeaaaaah, oh yeah." I'm not the Macho Man, so I googled the Hulkster and couldn't find much on the future of the show. I found one website (but not a reliable one) that said VH1 is definitely bringing them back for a season 2, but I had trouble finding verification on the
VH1 site or any other site for that matter. It is also not explained on the VH1 site, why the show just ended without any sort of season finale. In fact, the last episode to air was sort of a clunker, "Hulk's Hobbies." Call me old fashion, but I need some sort of a climax. But in my quest, I stumbled across the
Hogan family bio page. The Hulkster's bio is understandably long. So is Linda's, who hasn't done much outside of the home, but deserves a long bio nevertheless. Brooke's bio is long and a bit flowery -- "strikingly gorgeous with piercing green eyes and long blonde hair." (Um, yeah, the whole family looks like that.) But check out Nick's bio. It sucks. It's not even a fourth of the length of every else's. Plus, most of his bio refers back to his dad and his sister. They don't even mention how funny Nick is. Come on, somebody give this poor kid some attention before he ends up with a hooker and cocaine habit.
