Tricia Helfer is a really, really good actress. Before she was killed on
Burn Notice, I wanted her dead for what she did to Michael. On
Battlestar Galactica, as Six, she was a stone cold Cylon killer. She's very good at convincing me that she's dangerous. But can she do comedy? Hmm ... I guess we're going to find out.
Tricia Helfer will guest on Two and a Half Men in an upcoming episode.
According to Michael Ausiello of EW.com, Tricia will be playing a good friend of Charlie's fiancee, Chelsea, who has recently ended a bad relationship. As an act of kindness, Chelsea asks her to come out to Malibu for a visit.

If I were an executive at CBS, I would never want to do business with actor
Mandy Patinkin again. Even though Mandy is a terrific actor and one of my personal favorites -- I loved him on Broadway in
Evita and
Sunday in the Park with George, not to mention on screen in
The Princess Bride and
Yentl -- his history with CBS is abominable.
He was an Emmy-winning star on
Chicago Hope, then left after a couple of seasons to be closer to his family in New York. Okay, that was understandable. Then after getting
Criminal Minds off to a great start, he walked out of that show, citing creative differences.
Apparently, someone has said let bygones be bygones because
Mandy Patinkin will be a guest star on Three Rivers. Maybe because this is a very personal issue with Mandy, he's convinced the powers that be to let him return to the network, albeit for just a guest appearance.

Did you see Kristin Chenoweth on
Glee the other night? Fully recovered from her
migraine the night that she won the Emmy for Pushing Daisies, the prolific Kristin Chenoweth talked about the appearance on
Glee -- including an
interview with Nick the other day -- and she was enthusiastic about it.
She said it was a blast playing a character as wild as
April Rhodes. She liked it so much,
Kristin would like to make Glee a permanent thing. Or at least be asked back for future guest appearances.
She may get her wish. Kristin told TV Guide, "Ryan Murphy, the creator and genius behind
Glee, has indicated that he'd love for April to come back some time. However, they are all working hard to figure out stories all the time. It'd be great for it to make sense for her to come back."

I'm sure she'd say she's too old for regular television work, or that she's having too much fun guest-starring on every television show and half of the movies, but I just can't get enough of Betty White on TV. With it coming out now that
Betty White has signed for a guest spot on NBC's 30 Rock, she might as well start making room on the mantle for her latest Emmy.
After all,
30 Rock gets all the nominees for guest star in a comedy (though White did get nominated for
My Name Is Earl this past year). Reportedly White would play herself, which works well considering the premise of the show.
30 Rock does amazing comedy with their guest stars, and when you get someone as brilliant and talented as White, can it be anything but perfect?
Luckily, White wouldn't have to compete for that Emmy with another hot prospect for the folks at
30 Rock. After his Emmy-winning turn hosting
Saturday Night Live, why wouldn't they want to nab Justin Timberlake as well?

This isn't her first time, but I can't think of a better
guest star for the final episode of Nip/Tuck than Joan Rivers. What her role will be in the finale remains to be seen; hopefully it won't have to do with semen-based facial creme. Rivers says even she doesn't know what the episode will be, explaining that "
they only send you your pages for what you're filming."
That's like Lost-level secrecy. Nip/Tuck has had its shockers through the years, and since the creators knew this ending was coming, they've certainly had time to prepare. Supposedly Rivers won't be the only star making an appearance. "Star-studded" is the word I've seen being thrown about.

I think the producers of
30 Rock are inside my head, which is probably a bad thing, since I have a crush on Tina Fey.
But it really does seem that way since the news came that
Mad Men''s Jon Hamm was going to join the NBC comedy for some episodes, playing a doctor that lives in Liz Lemon's building and begins to date her.
It's as if the writers and producers got together and said, "Hey, why don't we take the star of Bob's favorite drama and put him on Bob's favorite comedy?" There really can't be any other explanation (my role in the casting on TV shows and the overall programming scheme at NBC has an amazing amount of importance in my head).
Anyway, here are the first pictures of Hamm and Fey on the set of the show. Looks like Hamm's character drives a motorcycle. No word on whether or not he smokes or will cheat on Liz with the wife of a jerky comedian. (More pics
here.)

I haven't seen Chevy Chase on television since his talk show from 1993 bombed. Now it looks like I'm going to.
Chase has been
slated to appear in three episodes of
Chuck as a technology mogul who is accused by Chuck's father of stealing his ideas. This also marks a return for Chase to NBC, the network which made him famous via
Saturday Night Live.I'm a fan of
Chuck and have enjoyed some of Chevy's movies (most notably
Fletch and
Caddyshack), so I'm looking forward to this appearance.
Chase's career has been on the upswing as of recent. He even made an appearance on the radio show of his nemesis, Howard Stern. He's recently guest-starred on series such as
Law & Order and
Brothers & Sisters. Now, he'll be guest-starring on a television show that doesn't have an ampersand in the title.
I just wonder if at some point Chuck will turn to Chevy and say "Hello, I'm Chuck Bartowski, and you're not."

File this one under the category of really, wild rumors that should become reality:
Desperate Housewives wants Governor
Sarah Palin to appear as a guest on the show.
Like I said, this is a rumor that cropped up yesterday, saying that head-writer/creator Marc Cherry was "very hot to trot to have her appear in the season finale." That was followed by an ABC spokesman denying that there's a shred of truth to the story.
Still, what if it's not such a Lucy Ricardo idea? Sarah Palin as a visitor to Wisteria Lane would be terrific -- and probably a boost in the ratings (which are doing great anyway, but still why not do even better?).

There will be some major star power in the new season of
Eli Stone. No, I'm not referring to
Katie Holmes' stunt casting. I'm talking big-time star wattage.
Sigourney Weaver will guest on Eli Stone as a psychologist. Eli, who is in desperate need of figuring out what he's been experiencing is the result of the brain ailment he's suffering from or something else.
Since he had brain surgery -- or so we think -- at season's end, will Eli still have the visions? Will he fulfill the imperative to Live Brave and become a leader -- prophet -- or was that not a look at the future but something else?
It's all very mysterious, and just the fact that he's going to see a shrink is positive development. Casting Sigourney Weaver is a positive as well. She's a three-time Oscar nominee and carries with her innate integrity and class.

Kim Delaney is not Quinn Cummings, but the actresses share one thing in common: Marsha Mason as a mom, on screen that is.
Army Wives has cast Marsha Mason, Oscar-nominated actress for
The Goodbye Girl, as Claudia Joy Holden's mom. She will be appearing on at least two episodes this season, visiting Fort Marshall and her daughter, the general's wife.
Marsha, who is actually has been Oscar-nominated as Best Actress four times in all (
Cinderella Liberty, Chapter Two, Only When I Laugh), will guest on
Army Wives as Charlotte Meade, Claudia's socialite mother. Her relationship with her daughter is strained and her visit comes without warning.

This fall Special Agent Sarah Walker will get a blast from the past as she attends her ten-year high school reunion and comes face-to-face with her old nemesis.
Nicole Richie will play a spiteful and sarcastic character who tortured the special agent for years. Sarah Walker has to go to the reunion for a mission; her date, of course, is Chuck.
Executive producer Josh Schwartz says Nicole Richie is actually quite funny: "Nicole auditioned for the part and was very funny. This role is a great opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills and be diabolically evil and kick some butt."

Television icon
Mary Tyler Moore guest star on NBC's Lipstick Jungle. She will play Wendy Healy's (Brooke Shields) mother Joyce, a retired high-powered executive. Joyce will force Wendy to question whether or not she can have it all: the successful career and the happy family. A trailblazer for working women back int he 1970s, Joyce's concerns for Wendy leave her overachieving daughter in a tailspin.
Of the guest starring role, Moore has commented, "I'm fortunate to have had a front row seat to the evolution of working women on television. It's been great fun to watch the strong female characters of
Lipstick Jungle go at it week after week. I absolutely adore Brooke and I'm delighted to be a part of a show which is so well written."
Brooke Shields feels lucky to have Moore on her show, which goes into its second season this fall: "I am excited and extremely honored to have an actress of Mary Tyler Moore's stature and talent join our show."
Lipstick Jungle premieres Wednesday September 24th at 10-11 p.m. ET.

Sometimes you have to call it like you see it. Last week,
One Life to Live staged a bachelorette party for Adriana with a surprise appearance (not to viewers, but to the characters) by Snoop Dogg. I was skeptical. This sounded like just another shoe-horned, topical musical guest starring role to throw a spotlight on the show. Well, it was to a point. It was a publicity stunt. However, the way
One Life put the show together, this intervention was something to shout about. It was a superb hour of music, comedy, drama and soap entertainment. If you're going to be cast in a bright spotlight, you better shine, and that's just was
One Life to Live did.
