The Hulkster's son, in jail for a driving accident that put his friend in a coma, just got moved last Friday into a new jail cell. He was serving
his eight-month prison sentence in solitary confinement after pleading no contest to the three charges: reckless driving, drunk driving, and having tinted windows on his Supra.
In a conversation with his mother, Linda Hogan, Nick (real last name Bollea) described the jail cell as half the size of his bathroom with no windows. According to
Nancy Grace, the cell measures 12 X 16. Nick's new digs include a cable television, unlimited phone use, a snack bar, and three other juvenille inmates. According to the Sherrif's office, he was being held in solitary confinement becuase he is seventeen and therefore too young to be with the rest of the criminal population. His lawyers apparently
filed a lawsuit against the sheriff's office saying that the decision to keep their client in solitary confinement is a violation of his privacy.
What do you think? Should Nick have stayed in solitary confinement until July 27th, his eighteenth birthday?

Well, it looks like celebrities don't always get off with just a slap on the wrist (wait...that sounds rather dirty, but you know what I mean).
24 star Kiefer Sutherland is actually going to jail for 30 days, as part of his plea deal regarding a DUI arrest in Los Angeles in September. He was coming home from a FOX fall season party. He's going to jail for having a blood alcohol level over the limit, but the second charge of DUI was dismissed (not sure what the difference is there).

What is it with 30 Rock stars, anyway? Tracy Morgan and drinking, Alec Baldwin and crazy phone calls. Are we going to hear soon that Tina Fey beat up an old lady for her shoes?
Morgan reached a deal with authorities regarding his drunk driving arrest back in November, which violated his probation (he was arrested before). He won't go to jail, but he will have to wear a SCRAM, which apparently stands for Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring. It's an ankle bracelet that detects alcohol vapors coming through the skin. Yeesh. What happens if you spill rubbing alcohol on it, or eat rum cake?
He'll be tested every half hour for 90 days (!) I wonder if there were any rural jurors who decided his fate or just a judge?

And I'm not talking about those PSA's he filmed for the L.A.P.D. that are now popping up after his arrest for drunk driving over the weekend, nor am I talking about Lethal Weapon. I'm talking about a couple of episodes of the short-lived ABC sitcom Complete Savages a few years ago. Gibson appeared as an L.A.P.D. officer in funny fake PSAs for the department, talking about motorcycle safety, wearing the right equipment, etc. Gibson produced the sitcom too.
Anyone have those spots on tape or DVD and can upload them to YouTube?

John Ventimiglia, the actor who plays chef Artie Bucco on
The Sopranos, made a plea deal that keeps him out of prison for drunk driving and drug possession charges. Ventimiglia will plead guilty to drunk driving, for
an incident on May 1 near Brooklyn where cops saw his car weaving on the road. As part of the deal, Ventimiglia will undergo regular substance abuse testing and a drug abuse program, as well as lecture high school students on the evils of alcohol.

Well, looks like Luke Duke, otherwise
known to you cityfolk as actor Tom Wopat, has got himself into a heaping hunk of trouble, and there ain't no Bo or
Daisy Duke to help him out of this pig slop.
Turns out Mr. Wopat, who played the dashing Luke Duke on The
Dukes of Hazzard from 1979-1985, faces a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) from the fine police of
Ringwood, New Jersey. Seems that Tom was pulled from his Ford Bronco Wednesday night (the General Lee was in the shop;
too many jumps over the ravine) after hitting some orange traffic cones and nearly slamming into a Ringwood police car.
He was charged with the DWI, and one count of reckless driving, then released into the custody of his
girlfriend.
Uncle Jesse, Luke could sure use some of that southern-fried advice right about
now.
