Jon and Kate Gosselin have finally filed for
divorce papers, but shouldn't the two of them go through a few steps before getting there? I'm no doctor, but even I could see that getting upset at one moment and then having silence for several months is not a good basis for divorce.
Yes, there are a lot of outlying factors that TLC has not decided to show America. The portrayal of the couple in the whole fifth season shows that the two didn't communicate anymore, unless it's for the children. Shouldn't one fix the communication barrier before cutting the cord completely?

You know things have gotten really bad in Iraq when the chosen form of respite for those living in the area is to watch Dr. Phil on television. It seems that some Iraqis have been watching the show to escape, if only for awhile, the fighting and conflict that still envelopes the country. I don't know how much this actually has to do with Dr. Phil personally, I would think watching anything on television that has nothing to do with war and murder would be a welcome escape for the people living in that country. I'm sure if they showed reruns of
Hee Haw they'd tune in to that once a week just to get their minds off the dark reality they face every day. Then again, maybe reruns of
Hee Haw would actually result in more fighting. You never really can predict these things.

Maybe Dr. Phil has finally fallen
out of favor with Americans. Or, maybe I'm reading way too much into an annual poll listing the Top 10 Favorite
Television Personalities. Since 1993, Harris Poll has conducted a research project listing Americans' favorite
celebrities. Dr. Phil, Regis Philbin, Ray Romano, and Bill Cosby all fell off the list this year.
The
pollsters conducted their research online, and only interviewed 960 adults. So, I'd say that leaves out a significant
portion of the population that isn't yet "wired".
