Dylan McDermott cast in Bruckheimer's new TNT drama

Dylan McTNT knows drama. That's their logo, their mantra, their promise to viewers, and with The Closer, for instance, they've delivered. Now they're prepping another new drama, this one with some major experience in front of the camera and behind it.

It sort of reads like a dream team. Dylan McDermott starring in a Jerry Bruckheimer drama called The Line for TNT. Only it's not a dream. It's a pilot for 2009.

Instead of sharing this one with CBS where his shows dominate the line up -- CSI, CSI: New York, CSI: Miami, Eleventh Hour, Cold Case, Without A Trace, The Amazing Race -- Jerry Bruckheimer has decided to share the wealth a bit. He's moved this one over to TNT. However, he's bringing in CSI vets Jonathan Littman (six-time Emmy winner) and Danny Cannon to produce and direct, respectively.

House producer heading to Court K

Paul AttanasioPaul Attanasio, House executive producer, has conjured up a legal drama for Fox. The network greenlighted a one-hour pilot, Court K, which is set in Milwaukee and involves a judge, a prosecutor and a public defender. Just because it's set in Milwaukee, don't expect to see Laverne and Shirley.

Like House is not your typical medical drama, Court K will not be a typical lawyer show, not that Boston Legal is typical, but you know what I mean. Court K is reportedly a lot grittier, with sardonic, dark comic elements. We'll have to see if any of the principals are hooked on Vicodan. I wonder if it'll remind me of the movie ...And Justice For All, which was also a dark comic look at a Baltimore courthouse. But then, wasn't that Night Court, too?

Bruno Kirby dead at 57 - BREAKING NEWS

Bruno KirbyVeteran actor Bruno Kirby, who viewers of Entourage saw just a couple of weeks ago on the show, has died of leukemia. He was diagnosed with the disease recently, and died on Monday.

Most people will know Kirby from his roles in When Harry Met Sally... and City Slickers, playing Billy Crystal's best friend in both films, but he had a ton of film and TV roles, including Good Morning, Vietnam, Donnie Brasco, Hoffa, Sleepers, and This Is Spinal Tap. His long TV resume includes guest spots on Frasier, It's Garry Shandling's Show, Tales From The Crypt, Columbo, Homicide, Mad About You, Kojak, Emergency, Room 222, and M*A*S*H.
