Don't get me wrong. I like Michael Rappaport. I've seen him in dramatic and comedic roles and he's equally impressive in both, but something just didn't work at all every moment he was on screen in Monday night's season premiere of
Prison Break. Maybe it's because everyone from Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell to William Fichtner and even Robert Knepper talks in this sort of subdued menacing whisper. And then here comes Rappaport all filled with bluster and his thick New York accent and that quarter smile that's always on his face.
I don't know what it was, but every time he spoke it pulled me right out of the fiction. I know
Prison Break isn't anywhere close to Shakespearean in quality or writing, but one thing it's always had going for it is the quality of the cast and their performances, making you believe all the ridiculous things that happen.

If you've watched FOX over the summer or read the upcoming season and episodes' official descriptions, you surely know of the big bombshell that will be revealed in the season premiere of
Prison Break. It's clear that FOX wants its audience to know of that reveal before hand in order to lure some viewers back to the show and create a buzz around the show.
If you don't know what I'm talking about and don't want to know about it, don't read beyond the spoilers warning. I suggest you also stop watching FOX until September 1 at 8 p.m. and that you stay clear from anything
Prison Break related. Because, as I've said before, it's clear the network wants you to know and they are not hiding that reveal at all.

These three guys are my picks for the hottest guys on television today. I think you'll enjoy. I've got a muscle-bound ex-convict stud, a cute guy-next-door stud, and a spicy tall-dark-and-handsome stud.
But quickly, I must explain my picture. Simply, I figured I'd pay homage to my first TV crush: Luke "Dylan McKay" Perry. Now, he's an older, wrinklier version of his former Beverly greatness but he's still hot. Enjoy my picks!

(S03E06/S03E07) A two-hour
Prison Break? Now what did I do to deserve this? Well, it was really just two back-to-back episodes of
Prison Break instead of a two-hour special. But still, the only thing better than one
Prison Break episode is two
Prison Break episodes.
And they were pretty good episodes to boot. While we didn't get to see the much-hyped escape from Sona, we did get some interesting new developments in the plot.

Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) is hands-down my favorite character on FOX's
Prison Break. Some argue that the star of the show and the main character is Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) but I would propose that it's his brother Lincoln who is the real reason to tune in on Monday nights.
Yes, Michael is very attractive. Yes, Michael is very intelligent. Yes, Michael has cool tattoos ... all over his body (cool tattoos that have cool secret codes and secret maps). And finally, yes, Michael uses said attractiveness, intelligence, and tattoos to break his brother out of prison. This is show of brotherly love is, to put it lightly,
generous of him.
Okay, so I went through the reasons one might argue that Michael is better than Lincoln. Continue reading for my reasons why Lincoln is truly better than Michael.

Back in July 2005, I had the chance to watch the
Prison Break screener. Even if I thought back then that the story was a bit far fetched (the evasion plan hidden in a massive tattoo), I put that aside and enjoyed the storylines and the characters.
I thoroughly enjoyed Season 1 because it was all about the ingenuity of the escape plan and Michael trying to put it in motion. In retrospect, Season 2 was entertaining even if not that good: there were too many storylines going on at the same time and all the characters were spread out over the country.
When I was given the chance to review the Season 2 DVD, I was not only looking forward the insights brought by the DVD extras but also to watching the entire series almost non-stop and see if my opinion would change on the second viewing.

Fans of FOX's
Prison Break rejoice! Thinking that fans don't have enough to chew already with the
available spoilers and the countless
spoilerish interviews Dominic Purcell is giving this week (I think I read 10 in two days!), the network has put up the first 17 minutes of next season's premiere online!

Last season's finale of FOX's hit show
Prison Break introduced us to Sona, the Panama prison where Michael needs to serve time. When reviewing the last episode, TV Squadder
Paul Goebel asked a few questions: What the hell is going on at Sona? Was getting Michael to Sona the endgame in all of this? Will he be the guinea pig in some awesome government experiment? Can Bellick suffer any more humiliation?
The answers to some of these questions and more after the jump.

(S02E14) First thing's first, you have to love the title of this episode -- anyone who knows Dominic Purcell's past might get a chuckle out of that.
It's hard to get entirely excited about this show these days, when so many other shows I love come crashing out of the gates with season premiere-like episodes to kick off the second half of their seasons. This episode wasn't what I'd call super-stellar, though it had its moments.

There is an odd list over at MSN where they pick
Fall TV's Hottest Hotties. It's strange because of the haphazard way they go about the list. Apparently 25 wasn't enough slots, so they have the entire cast of
Studio 60, and the cast of
Prison Break on the list. Now, I'll give you Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, but when you say the "cast of
Prison Break" you are including Robert Knepper (T-Bag) and Peter Stormare (Abruzzi). They are both great in their parts, but hotties?
Another oddity is that David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel from
Bones are lumped together in the list. It's strange not only because she is the third hottest woman on that show, but also because later Jason Ritter and Lizzy Caplan from
The Class take up two separate spots.
As with every list like this, someone always gets left off. I would have liked to see Adrianne Palicki (Tyra on
Friday Night Lights) in there somewhere. She's cute and that show can use all the help in can get right now. And it is hard to argue with Anya from
Deal or No Deal. Unless you bring up that her only line on the show is "Hi Howie." Who is your favorite Fall Hottie?

Writer Paul Davidson always has run-ins with celebs out there in sunny California. Coffee shops, restaurants, convenience stores, supermarkets, and everywhere in between. But this time he actually worked with a celeb. Or, in this case, a future celeb.
Years ago, Davidson worked in the film department of The Jim Henson Company. Guess who worked at the same place, answering phones, delivering office mail, getting bottled water for people, etc? That's right, Prison Break's Wentworth Miller! (You can probably guess that from the title of my post). Davidson has all the details.
But Paul, come on...I actually like "Smuggler's Blues."

The short-lived series
John Doe is airing
on the SciFi Channel beginning next week. John Doe premiered on FOX around the same time as
Firefly, and
suffered a similar fate (John Doe got a full 21 episodes).
John Doe is (obviously) a science fiction series
about a guy who wakes up on an isolated island, knowing pretty much everything about the world except who he is. Doe,
played by
Dominic Purcell, helps
Seattle detectives solve crimes as he searches for his own identity. It premieres on SciFi on January 20 at 9pm EST.
I never saw this series when it first aired, did you? Is it good?

Of course, one week of good numbers doesn't make a series a hit, but FOX's Prison Break did extremely well, scoring 10.5 million viewers for its 2-hour debut. In fact, it was the best Monday summer ratings for FOX since the Melrose Place/Ally McBeal days of the late 90s.
The show did well among men, of course, but also with women, who tuned in because they thought that since it was a prison show maybe they'd see some male nudity.
