Even if the
Dead Like Me straight-to-DVD movie will only be released next summer, the first trailer already made its way to the world wide web. The quality of the trailer is not the great but it does give a good glimpse at what's in store for the reapers and introduces Sarah Wynter as Daisie and Henry Ian Cusick as Cameron Kane, the new head reaper.
Even if you haven't read the
movie spoilers and news released over the summer, you will still grasp most of what is shown in the trailer even if George's narration doesn't give a lot hints.

Over the summer, I kept you in the loop as to the latest spoilers and info about the direct-to-DVD
Dead Like Me movie. Since I
last gave you news about the movie about three months ago and because the
DLM posts here at TV Squad still get a good number hits, I thought it was time I check up on the movie status and see if I could get more dish. Thanks to the movie's
IMDb page (it's been up for a while now but I had given up on it since usually IMDb creates pages before or during shooting and it hadn't done that for the
DLM movie) I can bring you some news.

Thanks to
Multichannel blogger Mary McNamara, we now have fresh casting news about the
Dead Like Me movie. The blogger, who attended the MGM panel at Comic-Con, reports that MGM's Senior Executive Vice President Finance and Corporate Development Charlie Cohen confirmed that everyone, except Mandy Patinkin and Laura Harris, was back for the direct-to-DVD movie. That is old news for TV Squad readers. But what is new is that Cohen gave the names of the actors set to replace both actors.

Dead Like Me is still quite popular amongst the TV Squad readers even if the series ended a few years ago. The hype surrounding the canceled-too-soon Showtime series was revived this spring when
it was announced that a made-for-DVD movie was in the works.
Not much has been revealed about this upcoming movie yet. However, we know that Ellen Muth will reprise the role of George and that Mandy Patinkin was written out since he was committed to
Criminal Minds at the time the movie started shooting.
Earlier this month,
Muth warned fans that the movie would feature a few changes mostly because Patinkin was not reprising his role but also due to a two-year jump between the series finale and the movie.

Yes, you read right. It is possible that Mandy Patinkin, lead of CBS'
Criminal Minds, be let go from the show.
TV Guide's Michael Ausiello's reports that after he failed to show up for work, it was decided to write him out of the season premiere.

A little over two months ago,
I told you that a made-for-DVD movie was in the works for Showtime's
Dead Like Me.
Ellen Muth, star of the series, announced on her
MySpace page that she's been informed the series could make a come back on TV if the movie sells well.
In her post, Muth mentions a
new concept being featured in the movie and that fans should give it a chance. Does that mean reapers will not get Post Its anymore?

As I'm going over the other TV Squad blogger lists for their summer viewing, I realize there's a whole lot of nothing on TV during the summer, as if I needed anything to tell me that. Sure, there are some gems in there, but not much that gets me excited. Thank the lord for
TV on DVD.

Ghost Hunters -- Always a guilty pleasure of mine, and since last season things have improved. They've cut back on a lot of the drama that most of us just don't care about and seem to find some pretty interesting evidence most of the time, and the fact that these guys roam around my backyard most times (New England) makes it even the more interesting to me.

Dead Like Me fans rejoice! The canceled-too-soon Showtime series about grim reapers may return from the dead in a made-for-DVD movie.
SyFy Portal reports that a
Dead Like Me film is in the works.
Dead Like Me aired for two seasons on Showtime in 2003 and 2004. The series starred Ellen Muth, Mandy Patinkin, Jasmin Guy and Callum Blue, just to name four of the stars who appeared in the series' 29 episodes.

Welcome to TV Squad Lists (formerly 'The Five'), a feature where each blogger has a chance to list his or her own rundown of things in television that stand out from the rest, both good and bad.
Last week I gave you a pretty big list of
popular "drinkeries" from TV, but I think where I went wrong was trying too hard to list
every watering hole possible. Since I'm covering eateries this week, I'm certain I'll miss some of your favorites, but I'm going to list what I believe to be the most popular dining spots from television, both past and present. And since there are way too many
real spots on TV to mention (Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Stadium, etc.), I'll stick with fictional spots, even if they're based on real ones.
This time let's go with 14 of them.
1) Arnold's/Al's Drive-In (
Happy Days) -- I struggled for a bit with what I would call the number one eatery on TV, but I kept coming back to this spot. Arnold's/Al's was in nearly every episode as far as I can recall, and of course housed The Fonz's office. After it burned down, the signage changed to Al's.
