Better late than never, right?A few days ago we told you that TiVo had managed to update its Series2 and Series3 units, but that Series1 TiVo owners were going to have to stare at an incorrect clock and schedule manual recordings an hour off if they didn't want to miss their programs for the next three weeks.
Well, it looks like TiVo's engineers weren't able to find a solution -- but members of the TiVo Community forum were. And TiVo has officially adopted that solution.
Users can sign up to receive the update, but it may take up to three days before the update is pushed out to your box. The update will not be issued to all Series1 users, as TiVo had previously recommended you schedule your manual recordings off by one hour. If the update were automatic, all of those recordings would now be wrong. So if you sign up for the update, make sure you either haven't made any manual recordings, or are prepared to change them yet again.
If you've got a ReplayTV box in the house, it looks like you've only got a few hours left to update your unit for Daylight Saving Time, as the update needs to be applied before March 11th at 2am.
