Unlike his three older brothers who all died suddenly – and tragically – the late Massachusetts
senator Edward M. Kennedy knew that his final days were upon him. In the time he had left, Teddy, as he was known by friends and family, took the time to enjoy his life. That included still getting out on his boat to sail despite being wheelchair bound, as well as viewing all the
James Bond movies, as well as 24 action hero Jack Bauer.
What's really fascinating about the latter two facts is that Kennedy was clearly entertained by both Bond and Bauer, men of action who didn't – and don't follow the rules. Bond, for instance, is in the service of her majesty's secret service, but he's a spy with a license to kill.

Would America be ready for an African-American president, which is now a 50-50 proposition with Senator Barack Obama the presumptive Democratic candidate, if actor
Dennis Haysbert hadn't done it first on
24?
A lot of people have wondered if Haysbert's brave, commanding President David Palmer influenced the way people are thinking about Obama. Dennis Haysbert has now weighed in, and he believes that
his role on 24 made a difference.
"My portrayal of David Palmer may have helped open the eyes of the American people," he told the AP.
"I mean the American people across the board - from the poorest to the richest, every color and creed, every religious base - to prove the possibility there could be an African-American president, a female president, any type of president that puts the people first," he goes on to say.

Dennis Haysbert told the Philadelphia Daily News that not only did he regret filming the assassination scene in last season's 24, but he's also not keen on this season's installment of the counter-terrorism thriller.
Haysbert -- who played President David Palmer on 24 but now stars in CBS' The Unit -- came back to 24 to film Palmer's assassination, something he says he now wishes he hadn't done. "It was a device that I didn't think was necessary," he said.
Haysbert also criticized his former show, saying he thinks that the program may have lost its way. "I started to watch it this season, and, you know, I'm just a little disappointed in its direction," he told the Daily News, adding that, although he's still a fan, "the politics has been skewed in a very, very right-wing way."

President's Weekend is upon us, and besides looking forward to all those nifty sales being offered at your local car dealership, how else should you best commemorate this day?
Sure, our real president may be less than desirable to revere at the moment, but at least we have our TV presidents to look up to!
How well you know your TV presidents? Wonder no more and check out this quiz. I personally do not know my TV presidents because I got a 4/10 on the quiz, but maybe you'll do better. Maybe.

(S05E18) So, is it just me, or has the crescendo already begun for this season, and is it going to break form and roll the rest of the way through to the end, or is it just me? With the military, Christopher Henderson and henchmen, the new CTU / Homeland Security, and a bunch of other law enforcement officials after Jack Bauer all at the same time, we've far exceeded what the fine folks at Rockstar Games would have put together for the Grand Theft Auto video game series, and moved into a whole new level.
Wily veteran Jack manages to think long enough to reach out to Bill Buchanan, as a way to get Wayne Palmer "to safety," whatever that means right now. He's all ready to meet up with Audrey and her father, as he seems like the smartest opportunity to catch Logan and end this mess. But after telling the secretary what they have on a recording and stating their intentions, Audrey and Jack are tied up and locked away, with Heller stating that he is going to try and get Logan to resign, because what Jack wanted to do would be "bad for the country."
