Sure, going to jail may be a poor life choice, but when you're a reality TV star, it's certainly not going to hurt your career. Despite the fact that
Khloe Kardashian is headed to the slammer for a 30-day stint, E! has just announced that it is
renewing Keeping Up with the Kardashians for a third season.
Keeping Up follows Khloe, her sister Kourtney and the infamous
Kim Kardashian as they deal with their family (mom Kris Jenner is married to former Olympic champion
Bruce Jenner) and life in LA as they try to stay in the public eye. Previous episodes have dealt with the fallout from Kim's sex tape, Kourtney's underage naked photos, and Khloe's DUI arrest. As Lisa Berger, E!'s executive VP original programming and series development understates, "There is never a shortage on drama, and we are certain the new season will be another wild ride,"
People are definitely watching. While its numbers would get a network show canceled in a heartbeat,
Keeping Up with the Kardashians' 1.6 million viewer average makes it a hit on E! Ten episodes have been ordered for season 3, which will premiere early next year.

Matt Roloff, patriarch to the Roloff family of the very popular TLC reality show Little People, Big World, was found not guilty of Driving Under the Influence by a Washington County, Oregon judge. He made this decision even though it was a jury trial. You see, a few of the jury members got into a bit of trouble. But first, more about Matt.
Back on June 19th of last year the 46-year-old Roloff was pulled over after a sheriff's deputy saw his van leaving a bar and weaving over lane lines. During testimony last week Roloff mentioned that he was only dropping off a friend at the bar and never left his car. He also testified that he was tired from a cross-country RV trip he took with his family and that the pedal extensions on the van he was driving (it was his wife Amy's van) were different than what he was used to.

Kiefer Sutherland has reported early for his jail sentence, according to this Yahoo! article. He was sentenced Wednesday for his drunk driving arrest in October, his second in three years. While he could have waited until February 12th to begin his sentence, the Emmy-winning actor instead opted to begin immediately. This may be because he'd rather get it out of the way now while production is halted on 24 due to the strike. I wonder if he and the inmates will sit around and watch old episodes of 24 on prison TV. (Are they allowed to watch Prison Break in prison?)

Don't be surprised if Jin dies this season on
Lost. That's what happened when two other actors on the show
got DUIs (although, the producers swear their deaths were not related to their off-set antics).
This time, Daniel Dae Kim
got the DUI. He was arrested early Thursday by Honolulu police, taken into custody, then released on bail. Kim joins the ranks of Cynthia Watros, who played Libby, and Michelle Rodriguez, who played Ana Lucia.

If I ever get arrested for drunk driving (which will never happen), I would like prosecutors and defense attorneys to come to an agreement where I can split my 48 days in jail into two different blocks of time, so I can blog all day long and watch a lot of TV shows I might otherwise miss.
That's what's going to happen to 24 star Kiefer Sutherland. He's going to jail for DUI for 48 days (not the 30 we reported the other day), but those days will be split up so it doesn't interfere with the production of the FOX show. He'll serve 18 days, then go back to filming the show, then serve the remaining days after production is over (he has to complete the 48 days by July 1).

Well, it looks like celebrities don't always get off with just a slap on the wrist (wait...that sounds rather dirty, but you know what I mean).
24 star Kiefer Sutherland is actually going to jail for 30 days, as part of his plea deal regarding a DUI arrest in Los Angeles in September. He was coming home from a FOX fall season party. He's going to jail for having a blood alcohol level over the limit, but the second charge of DUI was dismissed (not sure what the difference is there).

24 star Kiefer Sutherland was arrested last night in Los Angeles for drunk driving, TMZ.com is reporting.
The field sobriety test given to Sutherland showed the star was two times over the state limit of .08. Too bad he wasn't three times over, that would have been 24 and would have been great promotion for the show, though the show doesn't start up again for a few more months so that probably wouldn't have been great strategy.
Sutherland probably would have been OK but he made an illegal U-turn. He was released a few hours after the arrest after posting $25,000 bail. If convicted he could serve at least five days in jail. This is his second offense in three years.

OK, so the show isn't coming back, that's no reason to go out and get drunk.
Austin Nichols, who played the mysterious (was he still mysterious at the end? I stopped watching after three episodes) John on HBO's John From Cincinnati, was arrested in Jackson, MI at 2:30am for driving under the influence. According to TMZ.com, he was driving the wrong way down a one way street, was stopped by police who gave him a breathalyzer test after smelling alcohol, and brought to the police station.
The best part of this story is the mug shot. I mean, look at him. Doesn't he just look really John From Cincinnati-ish?

So, sue me -- please don't, I can't afford a lawyer -- but I couldn't help using the pun. Garrison, who plays David "Tweener" Apolskis on FOX's
Prison Break, will undergo
a 90-day evaluation to help evaluate an appropriate sentence for his
act of vehicular manslaughter.
In late May, Garrison
pleaded guilty to the manslaughter and linked alcohol charges that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old passenger and the injury of two teenage girls. Garrison was driving with a blood alcohol content of .20 (California's legal limit is .08).

What is the deal with television stars and their need to drive drunk? Of all people, Matt Roloff
is charged with drunk driving. He's the father on the popular TLC reality series,
Little People, Big World. The actual arrest happened back in mid-June but he made a court appearance on the charges yesterday. Deputies pulled him over at about midnight, and he failed a sobriety test.
I'd be interested to see how he handles this with his kids. I'm a fan of
Little People, Big World and am especially entertained by Matt, who always seems to have some big project happening out on his farm. Even though the Roloffs have a tough time
keeping their house clean, they seem to be raising good kids.
By the way, what do you think of Roloff's mug shot? The smile is a little creepy... almost like
Tom DeLay, but not quite.

Now, part 1254 in our never-ending series of television stars being charged with DUIs. Today we focus on Shemar Moore, who plays FBI profiler Derek Morgan on the CBS series Criminal Minds. On Tuesday the 37-year-old actor pleaded no contest in an alcohol-related speeding case.
Shemar was arrested on June 1st by members of the California Highway Patrol (most likely Ponch and Jon) for driving faster than 65 mph on a city street. Later in the month a DUI charge was added. If this took place in Los Angeles I'd like to know what the time of arrest was because there's no way in hell someone can drive anywhere near 65 mph on a L.A. city street during the day!

TMZ has a really weird picture of Tracy Morgan dressed like a flapper and holding hands with his wife. Apparently it's for a GQ magazine shoot, though I can't even imagine why he's wearing the skimpy dress. But, it's Tracy Morgan and we'll have to leave it at that.
On top of the slutty dress and the high heels (which he seems to be walking comfortably in), he's also sporting a lovely ankle bracelet that's a requirement of his
DUI probation. The device is called a SCRAM, and it tests his skin for alcohol vapors and he's required to wear it for 90 days.
Check out the photo here. It'll make you laugh.

If you were to list all of the celebs that I thought would be arresteded for driving while under the influence of alcohol, I wouldn't think Ty Pennington would be on the list. Of course, that's a silly assumption, since anyone can drink and drive, but I guess I think of the Paris Hiltons and David Hasselhoffs of the world first. And unknown reality stars.
The Extreme Makeover host was arrested over the weekend and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and possibly drugs too. Pennington released a statement saying that he "made an error in judgement" and "I want to apologize to ABC and my fans..." Translation: "I've done this before and it sucks that I got caught" and "damn, I hope this doesn't screw up my ABC gig!"
Hopefully he doesn't build those houses in the same condition.

...tonight, on a very special episode of The Simple Life.
OK, maybe they won't make it part of the show, though I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Paris Hilton has been sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating her probation, and being a moron. Well, not that last part, but definitely for violating her probation. She is going to have to show up to jail on June 5, and the judge is not going to let her do a furlough or wear a monitoring bracelet or any other easy way out. Doesn't sound too "hot."
Now comes the part where all of you unleash your comments below and let us know if this is a good thing or not, and make jokes about what jail will be like for Paris Hilton. The jail she's going to is the same place that held O.J. Simpson, and their main meal is usually chicken.

Actress Yancy Butler is in trouble with the law again. She was arrested on Tuesday for driving under the influence and crashing her Saab 900 into a guard rail. Butler also got into legal troubles a few years ago and just last month she argued with a former boyfriend and was charged with disorderly conduct. She was released and will be in court later this month.
All of the stories on Butler call her "fomer Witchblade star Yancy Butler," but I'll always remember her from Mann and Machine, the short-lived sci-fi action series on NBC in the 90s. It wasn't a very good show, but it was cool to see a series like that on one of the major networks, a show about two cops and the female cop is a robot!
