Eastwick continues to gel a little bit more with each episode, and it's fun seeing the witches discover and hone their powers.

In last night's episode, I kept thinking that none of what happens should come as any big shock to the witches. For instance, Kat shouldn't be amazed that Joanna says she can move things with her mind, because she's made the weather change, for goodness sake.

But maybe they're trying to make the women more real by not jumping into things. If something weird happened in real life, you wouldn't automatically think, "oh, I'm a witch." You'd probably think it's just a strange coincidence, or at the most, there are forces in the world we know little about.

It's Halloween, and there's no better place to be than Eastwick. Unless you've got an insane pastor on your tail who's bound and determined to make you pay for your past sins (see photo above).

But first, the celebration! Everyone decorates coffins, fills them up with whatever's been bothering them this past year, brings them to the giant witch statue, and watches them burn. Sounds like a party, doesn't it?

It was inevitable. Ever since Rosie O'Donnell grew a second head and spit venom at Elisabeth Hasselbeck, The View has been on the radar. Even without current host Rosie O'Donnell, there's been buzz with new co-host Whoopi Goldberg. Hasselbeck keeps causing trouble on the set with her lone conservative voice, Whoopi is outspoken in her own right, Joy Behar is a lunatic and even Barbara Walters has been known to snag a headline or two. Of course Lifetime wants a piece of that buzz. And to get it they're grabbing ... uh ... Sherri Shepherd?

Doesn't Sherri Shepherd think she'll fall off the edge of the earth if she goes too far? I thought she was still there because they didn't want to have to rebuild the table with one fewer chair. Huh, I guess I was wrong. Lifetime picked up Sherri Shepherd's sitcom Sherri for 12-episodes.

On CBS's The Big Bang Theory, we've met Sheldon's mother. Emmy-winner Laurie Metcalf appeared in season one as a super-religious Texas mama who knows better than anyone how to get to Dr. Sheldon Cooper. Now, Leonard's mother is going to be introduced, and she's equally as accomplished as Ms. Metcalf.

Tony, Emmy and SAG award winning actress Christine Baranski will be Leonard's mom, Dr. Beverly Hofstadter. That's right, she's a brainiac.

Her specialty is research on the human brain, and according to Bill Prady, Big Bang's executive producer, "There's the possibility that Leonard is the least successful in his family, that his parents always pushed him toward academic success." Sounds like a funny set up to me.

If you were to make a list of the TV shows from the '80s you could bet wouldn't come back as a reunion movie, ABC's Moonlighting is one of them. Not only is the show 20 years old, but there was constant tension/problems/fights/delays on the set of the show (sometimes Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd weren't even speaking to each other, except in scenes as Dave and Maddie), and when it ended Willis went on to a major big-screen movie career and you'd think he wouldn't want to look back on some TV show he did in 1986. But you'd be wrong.

Liz Smith reports that Willis and Shepherd ran into each other at an Encino deli (probably the last place I would think they would run into), and they were quite happy to see each other, even getting a little teary-eyed talking about old times. They're both up for a reunion movie (this year marks the 20th anniversary of the show's end), but they'll only do it if creator/producer Glenn Gordon Caron is in charge of the show again.

Glenn is currently doing Medium, and before that created Now and Again, which I really liked and should have stayed around a lot longer than it did.

There's no doubt a run on Dancing with the Stars is a boost to careers. Just consider Marie Osmond; was anybody knocking on her door for work before she fainted in between the waltzes and sambas? Well, according to Cybill Shepherd, the producers of Dancing with the Stars want her to take part in the competition. Whether they want her or she's saying they want her to get some press, Cybill goes on to say that she could consider being a contestant on the uber-popular reality show, but only if she can find the time to devote to rehearsing.

Cybill has been busy acting of late. She's going to appear on PSYCH in July when the show comes back with new episodes, playing Shawn's mother. There's also a feature called Barry Munday. Seemingly, she could make room in her work schedule for Dancing, and she claims she's really good at it and has fielded offers from them, "I love ballroom dancing. I've been offered Dancing with the Stars and I'd love to do it. I'm sure I could do it. It's just a really hard training period and I just haven't had time to devote to that."

The CSI/Two and a Half Men writers switch was a very clever promotion for CBS. Fortunately, the writers saw the opportunity to change places as more than just a publicity stunt. They really took the scripting seriously and came up with inventive episodes for each program. If this were a competition to see which team would deliver the better show, who would take on the task of writing winning TV in a genre not their own and succeed beyond expectations, the comedy scribes take the gold. Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn's CSI was pure genius, and if it were up to me, CSI should submit it for an Emmy.

But first there was Two and a Half Men. In an episode called "Fish in a Drawer" (and if somebody could explain what that title means, I'd be most appreciative), the story picked up after Evelyn married Teddy. In the teleplay by CSI regular writers Evan Dunsky and Sarah Goldfinger, Charlie and Courtney check out of the reception for a little romp in his room upstairs only to find Teddy's dead bod on the bed. Talk about spoiling the mood. Teddy wasn't only a corpse, he was a corpse with his pants pulled down around his ankles and lipstick stains on his hoo-ha. The cops were called in, a detective who was a dead ringer for Marg Helgenberger -- played by redhead Jamie Rose -- had the vaguely Bondian name of Jagov, Sloane Jagov. Naturally, Charlie had to make a move on her. He couldn't keep his eyes off her cleavage.

This sounds like good casting to me. Cybill Shepherd is joining Psych for a mini-arc as Shawn's mom. The actress, best known on TV from her hit series Moonlighting (remember, her and Bruce Willis?), has recently been on Showtime's The L Word. Cybill's not a great dramatic actress, but she is pretty funny and should fit in perfectly with the goofy, good-natured fun on Psych.

When Psych comes back to USA Network on July 18 with new shows, her episodes (at least two) will be broadcast. She's playing Madeleine, Henry's ex-wife and Shawn's mama. So far in the series, Maddie (like Maddie Hayes in Moonlighting perhaps?), has not been shown in the scenes depicting Shawn -- and Gus's -- childhood. Corbin Bernsen, who plays Henry, has worn a hairpiece for the retro scenes and goes bald for the present day scenes. We'll see whether Cybill's in both scenes or not...

According to the show, when Madeleine appears in Santa Barbara, she's coming from Europe and wants to visit her sonny boy. The visit, so we're told, dredges up some old memories. And since this is a crime/caper/mystery show, perhaps Maddie's bound to get involved in one of Shawn's cases.

And I second that. I'd love to see a Moonlighting reunion movie. Now all Cybill Shepherd has to do is convince Bruce Willis.

Shepherd tells Entertainment Tonight that she still thinks Willis is "hot" and that she would be up for doing Moonlighting again. Of course, Willis is really busy doing movies these days and who knows if he wants to look back like that, especially since the two had a lot of tension on the set (though I think Willis would be more up for it now than, say, 10 years ago).

Moonlighting actress Cybill Shepherd will be joining the cast of The L Word for an eleven episode story arc starting in early 2007. The actress will play the Executive Vice Chancellor of California University and the boss of Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals). Her character is a married woman with two grown kids, but she begins to question her sexuality. Yeah, I know, I probably could have guessed the "questioning her sexuality" part, too. She joins Marlee Matlin, who was added to the cast recently. Actress Javina Gavankar is also joining the Showtime series.
