Everyone's getting bored now. Megyn is running around talking to people all over the set and trying to make love to her "launchpad," while others are handing out cookies and snacks. When the election is turning into a landslide (which is how Fox News would have us think), I guess they're at a loss as to how to fill the time. "We booked the whole night for this coverage. Vamp! Vamp!" For more on why I love Fox News Election coverage, flip to the other side.
I think it's time to shake things up. Go crazy and call the whole election for McCain. Or even Nader. People will look back on it fondly and you'll be infamous in history. Just picture Brit Morgan's dour skull with the skin melting off looking at the camera with the words "McCain Projected to Win Presidency" below him.

I caught up to Keith Olbermann at NBC's all star party last night, and talked to him a little bit about the election, the origin of his "Special Comments," and getting back to doing highlights with Dan Patrick. More on that in a few days. But the first thing on my mind was if he read the
comments uttered by Fox News' Chris Wallace earlier in the tour, notably that MSNBC's election coverage was biased because commentators like Olbermann are used as anchors.
"Oh yeah, I thought they were disingenuous and ill-informed," he told me, "because during the primaries as I'm sitting there, and we have the other monitors on, and a couple of weeks at least I saw O'Reilly on in the middle of the primaries, one week Laura Ingrahm filling in for O'Reilly, and Hannity and Colmes at 9:00. It's the same thing, whether you officially say, 'Well, this is not our election coverage between 8 and 10, but between 6 and 7 was, and 10 to 12 was ... ' It's a game being played that's pretty silly."

I wasn't going to write an individual post about Monday's Fox News session, but a few things happened near the end of the panel that compelled me to write a bit about it, even if it's more than a day later. The panel, which consisted of
Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace, former Bush administration guru and current Fox News analyst Karl Rove,
Harold Howard Wolfson, a newly-hired Fox News analyst who worked as the communications director on Hillary Clinton's campaign, and Fox News executive vice president John Moody.
I figured that the presence of Karl Rove on the panel would have had the drooling critics in the crowd ready to pounce. But, for the most part, the press conference started very cordially. Things started to get testy near the end though. What is surprising, however, is that the reporters didn't have more problems with Chris Wallace than Rove.

Have we seen the last of Mike Wallace on TV? If you believe his son, Fox newsman Chris Wallace, the answer is yes.
Mike Wallace, who has been recovering from a January triple bypass heart surgery, recently had a fall in his home in New York. Fortunately, Mike wasn't badly hurt, but the doctors are watching him closely in the hospital because of the complications from his heart surgery. He is on blood thinner because of the bypass and if he starts to bleed from the fall, he could bleed out.
According to Wallace's son, Chris, host of
Fox News Sunday, the heart "is working fine," but he added that his 90 year old father is done with TV. Does CBS know that for sure? I mean, will there be no future Mike Wallace interviews or special interviews? He retired from
60 Minutes in 2006, but remains with the network as Correspondent Emeritus. Chris made it sound like there will be no more TV ever for Mike Wallace.
He also said of his father, "He's doing really well," having spent time with him while he was in New York at Fox's studios to report on the presidential primaries.

According to the
Hollywood Reporter,
Chris Wallace is on the short list for replacements if -- more likely when --
Katie Couric departs the CBS Evening News anchor desk. Wallace, son of the CBS elder statesmen and
60 Minutes attack dog Mike Wallace, has been host of
Fox News Sunday since 2003. But the guy isn't interested.
"As much as I grew up in CBS and as much as I associate that anchor chair with Walter Cronkite and the history of broadcasting, I have never been so happy as I have working the last four-plus years at Fox. I suspect I've had a much better last couple of years than Katie Couric."

First of all, anyone that missed Monday's episode, needs to
read up and watch some videos as quickly as possible. Contrary to what Jon said, it was most definitely not "the stupidest f*cking thing anyone's ever seen", because it was
epic and I couldn't get enough. I absolutely didn't mind that it was just silly writers' strike period filler. Man, forget Super Tuesday coverage, I wanted to see more people to get thrown down stairs.
