Welcome back to "AI Aftermath," where we explore Idol's past. Each week, as one more American Idol hopeful is eliminated from the competition, we take a look back at contestants past who were eliminated in the same week. We'll examine how they did on the show and what they've been up to since their eliminations. In honor of Brooke White's elimination last week we'll be looking at other fifth place finishers.
This week: 5th place finishers, featuring featuring RJ Helton (Season 1), Trenyce (Season 2), George Huff (Season 3), Scott Savol (Season 4), Paris Bennett (Season 5) and Chris Richardson (Season 6).
According to TMZ, ex-Idol contestant Alaina Alexander, and Top 10 finalist Chris Richardson are more than just Idol pals. They reportedly "hit it off instantly" and an Idol romance blossomed. The romance apparently continues even though Alaina was ousted earlier from the competition.
As proof of their romance, people point to a photo of the pair posted on Alaina's MySpace page. Alaina was also seen last week at the live taping of the show, sitting with Chris' friends and family.
Will it last? Who knows. And who really cares? Why does the public seem to crave these Reality TV romances? Will "Chris & Alaina" become the next "Rob & Amber?" I'll keep you posted.
(S06E23) So, 30 million votes were cast last night. And here's what we're told:
Phil, Melinda, and Blake ARE NOT the bottom three.
Chris S, LaKisha, Jordin ARE also NOT in the bottom three.
Sanjaya, Haley, Gina? Nope, NOT the bottom three.
Which only means one thing:
Chris R and Stephanie ARE the bottom two.
It also means that Sanjaya IS in the Top 10 and will join the Idols on tour. Is this a victory for Vote for the Worst and Howard Stern? Or is it really a victory for the Idol producers who can now count on Sanjaya's teenybopper fans shelling out loads of cash to see him live and in concert?
