The nominees for Best Actor in a Drama are not all from the movies like the Best Actress nominees are, but they are still a damn fine group of actors. I am glad that I don't have to vote officially for the Golden Globes, because I really think this is a very hard group to choose from. I have to say that my top three contenders are Michael C. Hall, Bill Haxton, and Hugh Laurie-- and not just because of their performances last year, but also because of their bodies of work as a whole. I don't know whether that is entirely fair or not, but I don't live in a vacuum. However, that is not to take away from the other two nominees, and the group as a whole are:

(S02E12) Things certainly didn't end up the way I thought they would in the season finale. And now I can't wait to see Season 3! I hate having to wait for so long for new seasons. I don't want to say too much before the jump, though. I'll just say that I thought I had a lot of things pegged a certain way, and one of the great things about this show is that it shows us that people in all of their wonderful complexity. None of these characters can be easily pigeon-holed.

• At 8, CBS has a new Big Brother.
• FOX has the Teen Choice Awards at 8.
• NBC has preseason football at 8, the Eagles vs. the Steelers.
• Discovery has two new episodes of Blue Planet at 8.
• Lifetime has a new State of Mind at 8, then new episodes of Side Order of Life and Army Wives.
• At 8:30, Nickelodeon has something called the Let's Just Play Go Healthy Challenge.
• At 9, History Channel has a new Ice Road Truckers.
• HGTV has a new Design Star at 9, then new episodes of Living with Ed and My First Place.
• HBO has a new Big Love at 10, then new episodes of Entourage and Flight of the Conchords.
• At 9:30, A&E has a new Gene Simmons' Family Jewels, followed by a new Two Coreys.
• At 10, CNBC has Against the Tide: The Battle For New Orleans.
• Comedy Central has a new Mind of Mencia at 10.
• MTV has the season finale of Making The Band at 10.
• There's a new Kill Point on Spike at 10.
• Also at 10: Food Network has a new Throwdown with Bobby Flay.
• At 10:15, TCM has Ace in the Hole, with Kirk Douglas.

(S02E08) [Spoiler Warning!] Please don't read the extended version of this review if you have not yet watched this episode. What a great episode. There were so many threads in this episode, it was great to see how fast and furious old and new facts were being hurled out through the dialogue. Oh, poor Benny. How humiliating. I think it's bad enough for any teenager to have his parents find out that he's having sex-- but it has to be especially bad when those parents think not only is he too young, but what he is doing is also a pretty serious sin.

I love looking at episode titles, and of course, obviously this title comes from The Lord's Prayer (which is pretty funny, because Joseph Smith instructs his followers to pray in a different way, and not to use this prayer), indicating that the Lord's will will be done. And that probably means not Bill's will.

• At 8, FOX has a new Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader, followed by a new Hell's Kitchen.
• ABC Family has a new Kyle XY at 8, then a new Greek.
• TNT has a new episode of Heartland at 9, then new episodes of The Closer and Saving Grace.
• At 9, ABC has the CMA Music Festival.
• NBC has a new Age of Love at 9, then a new Dateline.
• There's a new History Detectives on PBS at 9.
• Lifetime has yet another one of those movies at 9, where a young woman has visions of death or something. This one is called I Know What I Saw.
• History Channel has a new Cities of the Underworld.
• HBO has a new Big Love at 9.
• Also at 9: USA has a new Monday Night RAW.
• At 10:30, BBC America has a new Hollyoaks.

(S02E03) I was reading Meredith's post from last week's episode, along with the comments. Boy y'all must have really loved this episode! Lots of time spent on the compound this week, with Nikki and Bill there for a big family reunion. I was thinking about this because even though the compound parts of the plot line are also not my favorite, it's not because the compound creeps me out. I just prefer the dynamics of the three households. There isn't anything particularly familiar about the compound to me either, though I love the scenery they show of Utah. That is the scenery of my childhood memories.
