I don't know how many of you caught the
G.I. Joe movie this past weekend that is based on the cartoon and toy franchise of the 80's. I didn't, but even without seeing it, I think this sketch from
Funny or Die called
The Ballad of G.I.Joe is far better. Even the costumes are more accurate (if a little, but not much, cheesier).
Of course, there are quite a few television and movie celebrities making up the cast: Tony Hale, Olivia Wilde (pictured as the Baroness), Alan Tudyk and Julianne Moore, to name a few. And whatever you do, stick around for the end of the song to see a special guest star that SHOULD have been in the movie.
I remember watching the cartoon while I was a young lad, and it seems obvious that the creators of this cute sketch knew the show, possibly even more than the people who made the movie. Video is after the jump.

Frequent TV Squad readers know about my undying love for
Gilmore Girls. Newbies, you're about to get a taste (and you can thank ABC Family's endless slate of
GG reruns for this post).
Since the show ended its seven-year run in 2007, I've been following the careers of stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel very closely. Graham won raves earlier this year for her Broadway debut as a nightclub singer in a revival of
Guys & Dolls. Things were looking up for the talented actress until ABC recently decided not to pick up her new sitcom, but Graham continues to show up in supporting roles on the big screen.

I've been pretty hard on NBC of late, like
calling for Jeff Zucker's head when NBC announced it will present Jay Leno every weeknight in prime time next fall, but I think I'm going to have to tip my cap to the network for how
ER is coming to an end.
Not only have the producers lured
George Clooney and Juliana Margulies back for a last go-round, they've also cast Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon for a guest turn. George, Julianna and Susan will all appear on
ER on March 12.
I'm curious to see their appearances, but here's the casting that will have me definitely tuning in:
Alexis Bledel is booked for ER two-hour finale on April 2.

For those of you who haven't seen the March 1st episode of
Gilmore Girls, too bad, it's been like a week already! This isn't as much of a recap as it is a 130 word exhale of relief. All is right with the world. Well, the TV world, anyway. Sure, Lane and Zach had a romantic dinner and Lane realized that she didn't want to have sex until she was married (Zach, dude! Sorry, mon.) and Sookie falls asleep at the dinner table but what's really important here is, Lorelai and Luke are back together! I couldn't be happier, even considering the fact that the writers of this episode actually copied one of the plotlines of an episode of
Northern Exposure called "Spring Break" that I was actually in! Well, maybe it was an homage, rather than a copy. Either way, they make a great (if "duh!") couple and I'm glad we were spared a half-season of "will they/won't they" garbage.
