So much for that Veronica Mars movie {TV Squad}
Jul 4th 2009 1:56PM I think part of the problem is, the actress is no longer a kid (or able to play a high schooler convincingly -- she was 24 when the series started). Of course, Thomas is probably pitching a movie that takes place after the series... but, really, in the context of a standalone movie, what would be so interesting about this character as an adult female PI? There has to be more to a VM movie than that, and even I, a fan of the series, ain't feelin' it.
Mr. Eko wants to return to Lost {TV Squad}
Jun 24th 2009 2:56AM I could see Eko coming back for just one episode. Why not? He could return as Esau or the Smoke Monster* assuming Eko's image in order to trick or guide another character (Hurley would be the most likely person) to do something.
* - Of course, the Smoke Monster could be Esau (or vice versa).
Cupid: My Fair Masseuse (series finale) - open thread {TV Squad}
Jun 20th 2009 11:55PM The original Cupid was way ahead of its time. Yet this remake, oddly, felt irrelevant for these times. I'm not sure how else to describe it.
Trivial tidbit: The original Cupid ran for 15 episodes. This remake ran for 7. So, in a way, you could say that ABC finally got around to giving Cupid its remaining episodes to complete a full season -- 11 years later and with different lead actors.
Is there hope for a new Star Trek TV show? {TV Squad}
Jun 15th 2009 3:53PM "stan lee": Maybe CBS (as they own the TV rights to Trek) would air a new Trek series, or maybe NBC (the original network for the first Trek). Who knows, maybe even ABC (they picked up the "V" remake, which I still find surprising).
So I do think a major network would be at least willing to give a new Trek series a try. But I think Paramount would rather not diddle around with a new TV show at this point, for fear of diluting the goodwill they've managed to gain from the new movie.
What do I do now that we've gone digital? {TV Squad}
Jun 14th 2009 3:12PM Ha, I have one of these as well.
I might just keep it as a prop relic of old technology.
EC gives two fingers to Microsoft's browser-free Windows 7 {Download Squad}
Jun 12th 2009 4:16PM Er, if there's no browser at all on Windows, then how does one download and install a browser?
I think the solution is that Microsoft should not be allowed to prevent manufacturers (i.e. Dell, HP, etc.) who choose to install Firefox or another browser onto the Windows computers they sell.
For example, if Apple makes a deal with Dell so that Safari is included on the desktop of every Windows 7 PC or notebook it sells, Microsoft should not be allowed to restrict this deal.
Tim Kring offers spoilers for Heroes season four {TV Squad}
Jun 4th 2009 2:28PM Yeah, it doesn't sound that different to me.
My guess on Sylar is that he will regain his memories, but will continue to pretend to be Nathan in order to screw with everyone.
Still, I've decided I'm not watching the next season.
Nanny star joins the cast of Heroes {TV Squad}
Jun 4th 2009 1:35AM Why? She's not going to be naked on Heroes.
Reaper goes out in a Hellfire of glory {TV Squad}
May 29th 2009 2:27AM Actually, I'm surprised that ABC Studios isn't trying to sell Reaper to sister company ABC Family. Reaper seems like it would fit pretty well with the other one-hour scripted dramas on that network.
Here's a preview of Sons of Tucson (Tyler Labine's new FOX sitcom - goodbye Reaper?) {TV Squad}
May 20th 2009 10:13PM Looks interesting, actually.
This looks like it could even work as a spin-off of Reaper featuring Sock.
