David Letterman Furious With McCain {News Bloggers}

Sep 26th 2008 7:22AM John McCain tried to drop another bomb on the campaign hoping it would yield the same effect as the Palin pick (which is fast becoming a joke, btw).

Instead of making him look like a maverick, it is showing him up to be a desperate old kook, making rash decisions purely for political purposes. He's a disaster.

The idea that he would have to cancel Letterman so that he could "save" us is so pathetic. Who's falling for this crap?

John McCain's slogan is "Country First." Sure, John. You pick an idiot from Alaska on whose inexperienced shoulders the fate of the country may fall so that you can get elected, then disappear during bailout negotiations, but try and ride in like the cavalry at the last second to make it seem like you brokered the deal.

The slogan should be "Me First."

Saving money on coffee just like Grandpa: Folgers targets broke coffee drinkers {WalletPop}

Sep 21st 2008 9:26AM Folgers, Maxwell House, Chock-Full-O-Nuts. Its in my freezer and goes into my coffee pot every morning. It still makes the house smell like coffee, and still works fine in my cup.

When I visit my sister, I love the ground beans and the taste of her coffee, too. But not enough, especially in this economy, to spend several dollars a day on it - that's just stupid.

When I calculted what I save per day on not buying exotic, expensive coffee - it was enough to pay for six months of my daughter's gymnastics.

Does anyone even bother to calculate what's important anymore in this day and age? Or is it all about me, me me?

God forbid anyone should sacrifice something for a greater good.

A Final Word on Sarah Palin ... for now {News Bloggers}

Sep 21st 2008 9:15AM Good for you, Mo. You hit the nail on the head here.

As for those yelping that Obama is using the race card, you're fools. O.J. Simpson used the race card to beat a murder rap.

If you truly believe that there aren't people out there who refuse to vote for Obama because he's black, you're blind. We all know it - and deep down, so do you.

How Will Palin Get Rid of McCain? {News Bloggers}

Sep 18th 2008 1:42PM Gee, Kassie,

So - you weren't going to vote, but will now vote McCain/Palin because you're upset with Mo?

Well, I guess that's about as good a reason as anyone has given for a Palin vote. Although, you must realize (then again, maybe not) that anyone reading you post can figure out immediately where your vote has always been.

Nice try.

How Will Palin Get Rid of McCain? {News Bloggers}

Sep 18th 2008 1:11PM Listen to all the wingnuts - they can't list any of her attributes that would make her ready to take over the highest office in the land.

At a Town Hall meeting last night - with an invitation-only, friendly crowd, she could not answer WHAT made her ready, just that she would be ready. Please. Who falls for this?

Its getting increasingly embarrassing to see that McGoo can't go anywhere without her without putting a crowd to sleep. Who's running for President of the Republican Party?

And now conservatives whine because everyone is being mean. LOL!

Someone call the WAAAAHHHHMMBULANCE!!!

Chris Matthews Grills McCain Adviser {News Bloggers}

Sep 17th 2008 10:14PM Why, of course, Dave.

Okane was just innocently citing facts about Obama and abortion. Facts, btw, gleaned from which looney toon, right wing fringe website?

It's his timing that's so odd. He begins screaming about abortion while everyone is focusing on the economic crisis. You know, the pocketbook issue most people will vote on this election cycle.

Oh...I forgot. Most people except the conservative base, who, even in the midst of this economic disaster, are trying frantically to reignite a culture war.

Sad, pathetic, transparent, and, very bad timing.

Kinda like McCain's "the economy is strong" statement.

Chris Matthews Grills McCain Adviser {News Bloggers}

Sep 17th 2008 6:44PM Wall Street crashes and burns. McCain funmbles badly, and suddenly, Sarah Palin has been thrust into a broom closet.

And Robert Okane, frantically attempting to drag attention away from the number one issue in this election, waves his arms, essentially screaming "No! Look over here! We REALLY want to discuss Obama and abortion!"

Yeah. We want a culture war argument right now.

This is embarrassing, even for Okane.

Conservative Pundits Say Palin Pick 'Bull***t' {News Bloggers}

Sep 4th 2008 4:50PM Um...Bob? You forgot the minority vote, the youth vote, and the women's vote, which are still a solid majority for Obama.

Bush won because older, white, religious conservative voters are the most reliable voters, and will be in this election, too.

But many more people are fired up about Obama in this election year. The race in 2004 was very close. Actually, with young people and minorities voting in record numbers this year, it's Obama who stands a better chance of winning. McCain can't win without the majority of youth, minority and women.

Conservative Pundits Say Palin Pick 'Bull***t' {News Bloggers}

Sep 4th 2008 4:41PM So, who is running for President of the Republican party?

Palin was preacing to the choir. The GOP is trying to pretend it was a natioanal audience.

McCain's speech is not the one his delegates waited for, it was Palin's. Her tone was nasty, snarky and mocking, right up the conservtive alley. During the Democratic convention, we heard many dynamic speeches, but it was the candidate's speech everyone waited for, and Obama did not disappoint. He was the apex of the convention. McCain's speech is anti-climactic.

She mentioned that she cleaned up government - actually, it was the FBI that came in and did that. We are told she was wildly popular. Well, after the crooked Frank Murkowski, the bar was set pretty low. A reformer? She took earmarks for plenty of pork for Alaska, supposedly the kind of thing McCain abhors.

Sarah Palin discussed how it was her daughter, Bristol's, choice to keep her baby. Really, Sarah? You, who are against abortion, even in the case of rape or the endangerment of the mother's life, gave your 17 yoa the CHOICE? Yeah, right. And, if you did give her a choice, then we assume you will not be against giving all women the same right to choose whether or not to terminate a pregnancy.

All in all, the Republicans did what they do best. They bashed and attacked on a personal level.

But what else can we expect? They don't have a record of Republican accomplishment over the past eight years to run on, do they?

And, as far as picking off Hilary supporters? The only group more liberal than Obama supporters were Hilary supporters. And they're going to vote for someone just because she's got the same genitalia?

Good luck with that.

Obama's speech shatters Nielsen ratings {TV Squad}

Sep 1st 2008 11:15AM bCWhat sour grapes conservatives are eating.

It isn't any wonder. Obama blew the doors off the joint, and the only way anyone can stay awake for a speech by McGrandpa is to take no-doz. McCain is the dullest, most uninspiring choice this country could have made since the last choice, which gave us a chimpanzee for eight years. Do they never learn?

He won't get elected. He's a Bush clone. All the Christian conservatives and fat cats flocking to the voting booth won't save him in the face of the youth and minority vote that has been inspired by Obama.

As for Palin? Yikes. The idea of this local politician at best in a sparsely populated state being ready to run the country if anything should happen to McAncient (and, at his age, that's a real possibility) is a joke. McCain knucked under to the religious right. She was nowhere near his first or second choice, but his handlers knew he needed somethng other than the spectacle of the cobwebs covering him and Lieberman. This was a Hail Mary choice, and its going to backfire. Badly.

Oh, and the idea that this ticket will pull in disaffected Hilary voters, the only voters more liberal than Obama voters, who will ignore Palin's hard line conservative records and vote for her simply because she's a woman?

LOLOLOL!!! Good luck with that.
