Kristin over at E! Online has confirmed something that Ain't It Cool News reported earlier today:
Heroes producer Bryan Fuller has left the show (again)!
A lot of buzz surrounded Fuller's return to the show last season. After
Pushing Daisies was canceled, Fuller returned to the NBC show that he produced during the first season. Many fans credit Fuller with getting the show back on track. It did indeed seem that the show was a little bit more focused and engaging when he returned.
And no, this doesn't mean that he's going to be working on a big-screen adaptation of
Pushing Daisies. Sorry fans.
Update: Here's why Fuller left.

You know what? I'm down with all the cast, er, cross-pollination that's going on in sci-fi TV these days. Especially if it means good actors can keep working after their previous shows were given the axe. Earlier today, we reported that Brian Austin Green, formerly of
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is
joining Smallville for a two-episode arc. Now it looks like
Battlestar Galactica's Rick Worthy is in talks to join NBC's
Heroes.
On
BSG, Worthy played Simon, the Cylon famous for conducting icky experiments on Kara Thrace. He'll play telepath Matt Parkman's new partner, an experienced L.A. cop, on
Heroes when the show returns this fall. It's still unclear if Worthy's character will develop superpowers on the show, but something tells me he'll be more than just a normal cop before long. This is
Heroes were talking about, the show where
everyone gets superpowers.
Worthy is a sci-fi vet. He's appeared in everything from
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine to
Dark Angel and
Stargate: SG-1. He'll be joining new
Heroes season four recruits Robert Knepper and Madelina Zima.

... Bryan Fuller thinks so. The former
Star Trek: Voyager producer and current
Heroes scribe told Sci Fi Wire that he'd
love to create a new Star Trek series.
"I think that a
Star Trek TV series is probably a couple years away, just to let the feature franchise breathe," the
Pushing Daisies creator said, adding that any new
Trek series should take place in the universe seen in J.J. Abrams' new
Star Trek movie.
Fuller said a new
Trek series shouldn't focus on the Enterprise crew – he thinks the Federation flagship should stick to the big screen – but on a new ship with a new crew and "an entirely new adventure."

Update: The post on Grunberg's page was a retweet originally written by someone else. (Apparently, I need Grunny to control my mind and actions!)Greg Grunberg is reading my mind.
Yesterday, the
Heroes actor
tweeted a short rant about
The Listener, NBC's new show about a paramedic who can read people's minds. As everyone who watches
Heroes knows, Grunberg plays a mind reader on his show, which also airs on NBC.
Here are Grunberg's thoughts on the new mind reader in town:
"wht is ths "The Listener" crap. thr's alrdy a show abt a mindreader on tv, its called heroes, & @greggrunberg is all we need."

The
Heroes casting reports just won't stop. Yesterday, we learned that
Prison Break's Robert Knepper would come on board as a new villain. Now,
Star Wars baddie Ray Park is in talks to
appear in the show's next season for a sizeable arc.
As Darth Maul in
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Park famously wielded a double-bladed light saber to slice up Liam Neeson.
He showed his goofier side as Toad in the original
X-Men film and recently as a Skywalker Ranch security guard in
Fanboys. We still don't know any details about Park's role on
Heroes, but some Interweb bloggos are convinced that he'll play the "Knife Thrower" described in
Heroes' recent casting breakdowns.

I'm eagerly anticipating Zachary Quinto's return to
Heroes as Sylar after watching
Star Trek. Now, producer Tim Kring is getting my hopes up for the show's fourth season, which he says will explore some classic and intriguing superhero themes.
Kring recently revealed some details about the show's upcoming plots and themes in his latest "
Heroes All Access" newsletter. We have the scoop on what Claire, Peter, Nathan/Sylar and HRG will be up to when the show returns to NBC in the fall.

No, it's not Fran Drescher. But wouldn't that be something? Her laugh could send shock waves though a person's brain and paralyze them for several minutes.
Actually, it's Madeline Zima, who played the youngest kid that Nanny Fine had to take care of on the sitcom. She's all grown up now and co-stars on
Californication.
On Heroes she'll play a college student who somehow gets involved with Claire. I guess that means that Claire is back in college and our heroes are no longer on the run. She'll be on for several episodes.

NBC has been leaking like a sieve for weeks, so other than a few on-the-bubble cancellations, there aren't any huge surprises in their official upfront announcement. The big change is that they're doing two official seasons. A lot of the networks have been doing this unofficially, but NBC seems to be one of the few that is putting a label on it.

Returning mid-season: Chuck, 30 Rock, The Celebrity ApprenticeGone: Life, Medium, My Name is Earl, Kath & Kim,

Everybody loves a good mystery. Well maybe not everybody if the ratings for
Harper's Island are any indication. But mysteries and suspense have been a part of television since it's inception. It's one thing for the plot to be full of mysteries. Things like "Who shot J.R.?" can become a part of popular culture. But J.R. himself wasn't a mystery, we knew him pretty well.
But there are those characters we don't know much about. Think about Benjamin Linus from
Lost when he first appeared as Henry Gale among the Flight 815 survivors. There were so many secrets and mysteries surrounding him that we couldn't take our eyes off of him when he was on-screen. Well Ben's story may be more or less told, though something tells me there's still more to be gleaned, but there are plenty of familiar faces on television with not so familiar back-stories. And while Ben didn't make the list, that doesn't mean
Lost went unrepresented.

Star Trek's new Spock isn't ready to abandon TV just yet. Zachary Quinto is slated to return for season four of
Heroes.
We're still not sure if Quinto will return as a full cast member or a recurring player on the show, but he will be back.
Click through for minor spoilers for the next season of
Heroes, plus major spoilers for last week's season finale (which is more than a week old so every

Here's a question for the ages: Who would win in a real fight: Peter or Nathan Petrelli? Could the power-nabbing Peter kick Nathan's high-flying ass in a no-holds-barred brawl? Or would the older, slimier Nathan have the advantage?
It's a tough call. I'd have to vote for WHO THE FRAK CARES?!
But Peter Petrelli himself, Milo Ventimiglia, hopes that people care about such hypothetical battles. In his latest attempt to corner the geek market, the
Heroes star is co-producing
Ultradome, a web series "where passionate fanboys settle hypothetical disputes in a special effects showdown."
Expect to see such fanboys, including Ventimiglia, duke it out on the web series in scripted – yep, scripted – fights to settle stuff like: Which franchise is cooler,
Star Wars or
The Lord of the Rings, or is Han Solo tougher than Indiana Jones?

There weren't a lot of surprises at
NBC's "In Front" presentation this morning. As already leaked,
Parks & Recreation,
Heroes, and
Southland have been renewed, joining the already announced
30 Rock,
The Office,
The Celebrity Apprentice,
Friday Night Lights,
The Biggest Loser and
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
There's still no word on
Law & Order's bid for a 20th season,
nor did they clarify the fate of Chuck, though insiders feel confident both will be back. Back on the bubble is
Medium, which was leaked as renewed last night, along with
My Name Is Earl. Their fates are a bit more murky, especially
Earl considering NBC is giving
Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" a prime-time berth, apparently launching NBC's Thursday night.

Carl Winslow:
"See these muffins? In thirty minutes there will be another batch just like these, baked by the same people, except they'll be funnier ... I mean tastier."

Of course, a lot of fans do care, and they want at least one of these shows to be renewed last year (maybe even both). But in general? The
ratings for the finales of both shows were rather lackluster at best.
The season finale of
Heroes had an average of 6.4 million viewers, while
Chuck got 6.1 million. Both of those numbers are actually down from the season average (7.7 million viewers for
Heroes and 6.5 million for
Chuck). Now, I'd love to have 6 or 7 million people reading my stuff, but I guess that's not enough in television land.
