Eureka: Games People Play

Jack feels the pain when he forgets to duck.
(S02E04) I was a bit torn while I pondered this particular episode. On one hand I was disappointed - I figured out the basic premise by the opening credits. Eureka does enjoy dribbling secrets, but I think the faucet was opened a bit too quickly on this one.

Eureka: Unpredictable

Lupo finds out just how how frozen the dead guy is.
(S02E03) Everything starts off great for Jack... Until the lights go out and his ex-wife appears in the shadows like some sort of evil pop up vampire rabbit. Well, not so much rabbity, but you get the idea.

Eureka: Try, Try Again

Fargo and various generals look on as Allison takes over Global Dynamics

(S02E02)
The beginning of the show suffered a bit from post-season premiere setup, but things got back on track pretty quickly. Allison's taking over Global Dynamics; Stark is heading out the door; and Fargo is... well, Fargo. Seeing Jack and Zoe at home definitely helped set the tone and bring back last season's ambiance.

Eureka: Phoenix Rising (season premiere)

Jack watches an eclipse through the dorkest shades ever
(S02E01) Eureka's return answered some questions from the finale and brought along a new set of questions to get things rolling. After a recap session, we find out that Jack and Henry both retained their memories from the future.

Stargate Atlantis: The Ark

After learning that his wife and son are dead, Herrick commits suicide by... space shuttle
(S03E16) The Ark is a classic science fiction plot. Sure the people used Wraith technology to preserve their people, but sending people off in space in suspended animation has been the subject of countless stories.

Stargate SG-1: Bad Guys

Daniel plays hostage taker - and apparently never bothered to see Die Hard.
(S10E16) After a week of hellish home buying, Bad Guys was a welcome episode of SG-1. I didn't take the plot very seriously - and neither did the entire cast. Most of the performances were a bit over the top - from the hysterical screaming woman to the hero wannabe security guard. Despite being completely unrelated to the current story line, the writers did make some effort to tie things in.

Stargate Atlantis: The Game

Rodney and Sheppard have been enjoying their own Ancient tech lan partes
(S01E15) The plot of The Game sounded kind of cheesy at first. The idea of a civilization style game that actually controls a world initially put me off a bit. I had a hard time getting into the show because of it. Once the situation escalated a bit, it was much easier to get into things.

Stargate SG-1: Bounty

Vala goes native in Kansas - while Cam tries to use his cell phone
(S10E15) Bounty is one of the funniest SG-1 episodes this season. The Orion Syndicate Lucian Alliance has put a price on SG-1s head, and plenty of bounty hunters want in. Vala was in rare form, Cam got a little action, and Daniel was saved by... a city bus. The show gets the plot out of the way pretty quickly, so we go to relax and watch each member of the team deal with their own personal assassin.

Stargate Atlantis: Tao of Rodney

Rodney shows off his new power by giving the doctor a flying lesson
(S03E14) "Tao of Rodney" was such an interesting episode that I didn't even think of it as a filler - that is, being disconnected from any larger plot lines. When Rodney is exposed to an Ancient device that modifies his DNA, directing him towards ascension or death, he's forced to reconcile just who he is and face many of his flaws.

Stargate SG-1: The Shroud

Daniel, now a prior, spends the episode convincing SG-1 to follow his plan
(S10E14) I've been trying to figure out just where the title of The Shroud comes from. I've still got no idea, but I do know that SG-1 turned in a great episode last night. Unfortunately, the previews gave away some plot details. I spent most of the episode wondering when Daniel would break free from his confinement chair.
