Word on the street yesterday was that the
90210 spin-off
executive producers were thinking of actor Rob Estes to portray Harry Mills, a father who relocates his family in Beverly Hills to take care of his alcoholic mother. The show had yet to find an actor to play the pivotal role and they were now getting ready to just hand it on a silver platter to a "name" actor.
The stars quickly aligned (read here that Rob Estes became available since ABC canceled
Women's Murder Club) and
the actor will join the already beautiful 90210 cast.

Earlier this week, The CW released
this promotional picture of the
90210 regular cast. From left to right: Dustin Milligan, AnnaLynne McCord,
Jessica Walter, Shenae Grimes,
Tristan Wilds,
Lori Loughlin, Ryan Eggold, Jessica Stroup and Michael Steger.
If you've been keeping up with
information about the spin-off, you know that there is someone missing from that picture. No, it's not
Jennie Garth or
Tori Spelling since they will be recurring/guest stars. But it's the actor who'll play the pivotal character of Harry Mills, a father who relocates his family in Beverly Hills to take care of his mother.

Smallville fans, you can finally resume breathing. The last few weeks have been a roller coaster due to the fact
the two creators left the show, because of
the departure of Michael Rosenbaum and the announcement that two new regulars would join and because of contract negotiations for Kristin Kreuk and Allison Mack.
It was confirmed pretty early on that
Kreuk would only be a part-timer next season. However,
Mack's future with the show was up in the air. Actually, it was even talked that she would
not be returning because she couldn't reach an agreement with The CW show. The latter news was supported by the fact her name was omitted earlier this week in the
network's Upfront press release.

In early March, FOX announced that a
24 two-hour Season 7 prequel would air this fall. At that time, not much was known about this special event expect that the action would take place after the Season 6 finale and before the
Season 7 premiere. Eventually, we got wind that
Jack Bauer would be heading to Africa even if
the idea was scrapped in September because of production cost.
Today,
FOX confirmed that Jack Bauer would battle an international crisis in South Africa in the two-hour prequel set to air on Sunday, November 23 at 8 p.m.

Funny lady Megan Mullally may be coming back to the small screen! The actress, better known for her role of neurotic Karen Walker on NBC's
Will & Grace,
will star as the mother in ABC's new series
Bad Mother's Handbook.
This comedy is about a 32-year-old woman (portrayed by Alicia Silverstone) who takes care of her 16-year-old daughter (played by Arrested Development's Alia Shawkat) and her 48-year-old overbearing mother (Mullally).

(S01E17) "We're here to help Serena no matter what the problem is." - BlairAfter a "wow"
episode last week, expectations (at least mine) for this week were pretty high. I had loads of questions about the video and hoped that answers would be giving in "Woman on the Verge." The episode definitely met my expectations and set the scene for what could be an action and drama packed season finale next week.
What I liked most about this week's episode is the "no matter what" friendship seen between Chuck, Nate, Blair and Serena. They were able to put their problems aside and work together. As the saying says, "A friend in need is a friend indeed." The quartet definitely proved that saying this week.

(S01E15) "It's my birthday?" - SamEven if it wasn't an earth-shattering or intense episode,
Samantha Who?'s season finale was satisfying. The episode wrapped up the Chloe/Todd relationship, clarified where Sam and Todd stand, and gave Sam another clean slate (she got the first one after when she woke up from the coma with amnesia). It also marked the first time that all series regulars shared a scene together.

As a fan of the CBS series
Moonlight, I've been keeping an eye on news about the show lately to know if it would be renewed or not. Lately, most articles made me optimistic since they said that
the show had a good chance of getting a second season. Actually, some people said it was almost a done deal because the CBS Friday night lineup was doing very well. But, as people keeping tabs on the upfronts know, things can change in a split second.

Not even a week after it was announced that
Jennie Garth would be part of the Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off in a recurring capacity, comes the news that
Tori Spelling will also join the "new" 90210 series.
Nikki Finke, over at
Deadline Hollywood Daily, which was a prime spot for news about the writers strike, reports that reliable sources claim Tori Spelling will reprise her role of Donna Martin on the spin-off.

Even if
Isaiah Washington is not longer part of the
Grey's Anatomy cast, that doesn't mean he can't be at the center of more
behind the scenes drama surrounding the show. This time, the actor is suing because the ABC show used a picture of himself portraying his
Grey's character in last week's episode, "
The Becoming."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor filed a complaint with SAG because the show used his picture without permission.

Two weeks ago, I posted about
Aliens in America's
Adhir Kalyan landing an important recurring role on FX's
Nip/Tuck. At the time I reported that news, it was unknown if The CW comedy would be renewed or not but it sure didn't smell good for the series since Kalyan, one of the show's star, got that other gig and rumors claimed that
Scott Patterson was shopping around for a new job.
The grim reaper made a new victim:
Aliens in America was canceled this week.

Actress Jennie Garth, who portrayed Kelly Taylor in almost 300 episodes of the hit series
Beverly Hills, 90210, will appear on the series' spin-off set to premiere this coming fall season on The CW. The actress, who will appear in a recurring capacity on the spin-off, will reprise the same role that helped put her on the map in the 1990s.
It's not unusual to see original cast members make their way in spin-offs. And when said spin-offs have teens attending school, it's a regular occurrence to see the original cast member be part of the school's staff. Kelly Taylor is no exception here. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Kelly Taylor will become
a guidance counselor at West Beverly Hills High. Nothing more is known at this point about the character and if other
90210 original cast members will join her on the show.
Jennie Garth was also part of the cast of
What I Like About You and of Season 5 of
Dancing with the Stars.
