(S06E09) "I don't care how you go. I just want you gone." - Carlos to Lynette
As we all expected, this week's installment of Desperate Housewives marked the beginning of the war between Carlos and Lynette over the fact that she is pregnant and hid her pregnancy as long as she could so she wouldn't be fired.
Carlos may have won the first battle, but the war is far from over as Lynette will not go down without fighting as hard as she can. Who will win the war? Only time will tell. One thing is certain, it will take a lot of time for the Scavos and Solises to be the friends they once were.
Katherine
Katherine's craziness has finally reached its peak. As much as I enjoyed seeing crazy Katherine in the first few episodes of the season, Katherine antics to get Mike back were getting a bit tired tired. Did Katherine call 911 and then stab herself to get Mike's attention back? Or did she do it because Mike's harsh words were the last straw?
In any case, Katherine will surely now get some psychiatric help. The question is, though, will she be truthful during the psychiatric sessions or will she lie her way through them to get out faster and go back to trying to get Mike back?
Speaking of Mike, I don't buy the fact that he never loved Katherine and that every time he was with her, he was thinking about Susan. Did the writers forget about last season? They wrote the Katherine/Mike relationship scenes in such a way that it was clear he had some feelings for her and that she was more than a friend.
I hate it when writers forget about previous seasons/episodes... However, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and that Mike didn't 100% mean what he told Katherine this week. Mike was probably too enraged because Katherine took MJ so he said things that were extremely harsh and not totally true.
Karl and Bree
Now that they have Susan's blessing, do you think Karl and Bree will be as into one another as before? I sure hope so because I'm warming up more and more every week to the idea of Karl and Bree together.
The self-defense scene during which Susan tells Bree that she knows about the affair and Bree trying to explain herself while they do a self-defense technique was fun to watch. Another fun scene from this storyline was the "Karl facts" one. In case you missed them, here are the fact we've learned about Karl:
- Karl forgot Susan's 30th birthday.
- He spent their 10th anniversary at a strip club.
- Karl suggested to Susan that his 35th birthday gift be a threesome.
The Bolens
Things we've learned this week about the mysterious Bolens:
- Nick admitted to Angie that he was the last customer at the coffee shop and was there around closing time. Later, he also told his wife that he called the Feds.
- Angie is feeling like a real person now that she has a job and friends. These past years, she's been feeling like a ghost.
- Nick wants them to stop running away and suggests that they turn themselves in.
- The reason why they are on the run is because Angie killed a man.
- Danny told Julie he still loves her and wants to be with her even if she slept with his father. She rejected him, which lead to Danny trying to commit suicide.
- When waking up in his hospital bed, and surely still under the effect of medication, Danny told the nurse that his real name is Tyler.
If the nurse makes it (see my "killer" comment below), it may be the end of the road for the Bolens as she will surely notify the authorities who'll discover that the Bolens aren't, well, the Bolens.
The killer/strangler
Mary Alice said that the killer is a "he" and that he isn't finished. I'm still unsure that the killer is male even if Mary Alice says he is. The show could try to point us in the wrong direction. However, I do believe Mary Alice when she says that the killer isn't done yet. Who's next? The nurse who now knows Danny's real first name? Or will the killer try to kill Julie again? Is the person who strangled Julie and the person who killed Emily the same person? Could there be a copy cat? Or maybe a team?
Next week (spoilers alert!)
Spoilers alert! If you've seen the previews for next week, you know something huge is about to literally hit Wisteria Lane. And if you've read spoilers, you know that a plane will crash on the houses and that a few characters will die. Whom do you think will die next week? Make your predictions in the comments section below and we can check next week how accurate you were.

I don't think Katherine tried to kill herself, she's framing Mike. He had his hand and fingerprints on the knife. She wouldn't call 911 immediately if she were committing suicide. And, danny/Tyler made his attempt after hearing that they may go on the run again, IMO not so much about Julie.

Ooh.... why didn't I think of this theory?! Now that you post it, it's so obvious that this is probably what she is trying to do.
I hope though that it backfires on her and that she ends up in the loony bin... maybe with our other favorite wacko Dave?

Was thinking the same thing as soon as Mike got his fingerprints on the knife that combined with Susan grazing her with a bullet makes them seem very suspicious. He said she said kind of thing.

I wonder if there's any significance to Karl and Julie switching cars? Will the killer try to take out Julie but get Karl instead?!

That's the first thing I thought when they switched cars. I immediately thought that the killer would see the car and try to kill its occupant not knowing it's Karl and not Julie.

i think the switching cars routine was just so Karl could sneak around with Bree under the guise of his daughters car.
and, seriously, its clear that Katherine is intending to frame Mike AND Mike didn't 100% mean what he said to her. but, since he is married, their affair and any feelings he had during are moot.

When Mary Alice said the killer was a "he," I figured that my theory of Angie as Julie's strangler was kaput. But you're right that there could be two different killers and they're just trying to confuse us. Although I'm still questioning whether Angie did it, because I think they want to keep that character on after this season a la Katherine and Orson (funny how both of those characters have gone insane and all the mysteries seem to have a close connection with Bree except for Dave).
Anyway, I think the Lynette v. Carlos storyline is the heavyweight right now. I don't know how Gabrielle and Carlos can possibly think they're in the right. I hope Lynette takes them to the cleaners. Unfortunately, I have a feeling Gaby and Lynette will resolve the issue in the next episode.
As for who dies, I'm sure Lynette's babies will--I doubt the writers want to do more baby storylines. I was thinking either Katherine or Karl (or both) will die. Maybe Julie, Danny, or one of the Solis children.

i don't know about Angie being the killer. after her impassioned speech about wanting normalcy and really regretting her actions and how they changed her family's life so much, i doubt that she is going around strangling people.
i really do think its whomever was connected to Angie's killing though. someone who wants to get back at her.

Thing is I think Katherine would have a hard time framing Mike once forensics went to work. Sure Mike's prints are on the knife, but he wasn't the final person holding the knife, hers would be on top of his. Self inflicted wounds also tend to look very different than wounds when attacked. Of course I may be overestimating the Fairview P.D.

Did it bug anyone else, when Mike said MJ was six? Last episode they referred to Juanita as seven. Amazing a child that wasn't conceived before the time jump is suddenly a year older than the kid born before the jump. That stuff annoys me.

Not really. Think about next episode with the plane crash. Lynette could be injured and lose the baby. Baby storyline GONE! And the ensuing sympathy from the Solises would do much to mend their friendship and even get Lynette's job back.
I'm almost hoping they DON'T do this see I'm actually really liking this family vs. family thing.

I feel the same way. I think this is the first time where Gabrielle's selfishness has shown how serious a problem it is--she's willing to put her pregnant best friend out of a job and her family in an economic disaster.

While I sympathize with Lynette over the possibility of her losing her job, she brought it on herself by lying to Carlos, not confiding in her friend, Gaby and then suing instead of trying to talk things out. I hate this atmosphere where the employer is made out to be the bad guy. Carlos gave her a job and a chance to build the company with him and Lynette assumed the worst about him and lied. That in itself should be enough to fire her, not to mention that she's putting Carlos and his company at risk. Why is his family any less important than hers? I didn't see Lynette and Tom give Carlos & Gaby jobs when they were down on their luck.

Lynette didn't put the company in jeopardy. She actually did a lot of good for the company. She had plans on who would replace here while she remained on maternity leave and she knew that she was the best person for this job. I agree she shouldn't of lied, but she felt that it was her only option for her family. The Scavos have more debt and children than the Solis family does. If the Scavos had enough money and a company when the Solis needed help, the would of.

Concealing a pregnancy (which technically is not any of a company's business) because the employer already showed his bias towards pregnant women is not just cause for being manipulated into a position where there's no option except for being fired. Which I think any judge will see.
As for the friend aspect--Carlos showed that he couldn't be trusted to be fair on the job. As for lying to Gabby, yes, that's not the best thing in the world, but it doesn't give them the excuse to play around with her job! She also tried talking to Gabby--and Gabby played the "me" card like she always does. They took it to a new level by being discriminatory on the job, which is illegal. In this case, the employer is in the wrong.
And how did she put his company at risk? It's already been said she's done an excellent job so far, and I doubt she would completely abandon them when she had the twins (because they're her friends). If -they- were real friends, they would've known that.

Rightmom,
The jobs Tom and Lynette had to offer at the pizzeria were not even close to being in the same league as what Gaby and Carlos would have looked for. No offense, but do you honestly thing Gaby and Carlos would have wanted to take 9 bucks an hour to be an employee of a friend and neighbor? If they were willing to work for that wage I'm sure they would have found something else.

Anybody remember any "romantic" scenes between Angie & Nick, I don't...
Combine last night's episode, platonic embrace at the hospital & comment that Nick didn't "have" to run with her, her reaction to affair w/ Julie...any chance they're brother & sister, posing as husband & wife because she killed Danny/Tyler's dad 18 yrs ago?????

Carlos was a turd....period! He is setting himself and the company up for a HUGE lawsuit, not to mention public humiliation should the media get wind of this. The idea that he protected himself with that report is just a bunch of crap. He was a jerk.
And let's be clear....did Lynette really lie? Or did she not TELL them she was pregnant? She isn't required by law to disclose her pregnancy, not to mention, many people don't share that news in the first trimester, add her age, and the fact that she is carrying multiples, there could be MANY reasons she didn't want to share the news just yet. Carlos played hardball from the get go, why is Lynette supposed to do anything different?
Sorry, but the whole Katherine storyline is just getting annoying. I am more than ready for this to be over and done with.
Really liking Bree and Karl, though.

I'm really starting to think about Angie's relationship with Nick, they may be "faking" their marriage. Plus, does anyone have ideas on who murdered Kathy, the girl who works at the coffee shop? I wanna say Nick, but that seems to obvious. I REALLY hope that Katherine doesn't get away with this framing thing, she's psycho. Anyone else with me?

I wonder how many hours did Lynette work on the report.. it sounded as if she was up all night. Even if she did go to a play.. how many hours did she spend working?
Not sure what time she got the report or her normal hours...but lets say her normal leaving time is 5p and she got work at 4p.. so she works 4p to 7p..takes a break to see play then works 9p-9a on top of the hours she worked the day she was given the work.
No employer can exspect any worker to work that many hours straight. He will loose in front of a jury. He should fire the lawyer advising him.
