Producers Guild names noms; do you care?

Usually just covering the Emmys is enough to make me want to take a week long nap. But now TV shows are getting more nominations and awards than most Nobel Peace Prize Winners.
It's not just the Emmys. We've got the Golden Globes, the People's Choice Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Peabody Awards, the ALMA Awards, the E Pluribus Unum Awards. It's good to know that at least America's cabinet makers will never suffer a major economic recession.
Now
the Producers Guild has announced the list of nominations for their awards and they are almost identical to the Emmys.
Mad Men, 30 Rock, Breaking Bad, Dexter; they're all there. Why not just show a rerun of the last Emmy Awards and everyone can turn in early?
Does anybody care about all these trinket tossers?

These award shows have become a joke. Can't figure out how they decide who's nominated. It baffles me that shows that really hook you(they become an addiction)with great writing and acting, i.e. Sons of Anarchy, created by Kurt Sutter; Friday Night Lights, created by Peter Berg, are never nominated. The actors are just passed by. Are the "powers that be" who come up with the nominations clueless? Are they just accountants? Do they actually watch to shows? This doesn't just apply to the Emmy's. The People's Choice Awards have become a joke. Last year it was painful to watch. The fans created such a chaotic atmosphere, and the only entertainers that decided to show up were the ones that won. There wasn't an element of surprise. They didn't need to give speeches & they acted uncomfortable.

No, particularly since they will anoint the amateurish Mad Men top drama. I'm not sure I've seen anything that I thought was so mediocre (at best) be so acclaimed. People drool over the production, but I'm not even impressed with that. To me, the show screams "I'm done on a soundstage!".
