Review: The Amazing Race - We're Not Working With Anybody, Ever, Anymore!

Sam and Dan take another team's taxi cab
(S15E10) I mentioned last week that the remaining teams on The Amazing Race are really feeling the pressure as they're getting closer to the win. Well, there were no fisticuffs, no elbowing, but there was an underhanded incident ... or two or three.

Unlike Survivor, this show doesn't depend on sneakiness or scheming. In the end, it's how well they run the race around the world, how well they read the clues, and how well they complete the tasks. While getting along with the other teams is always a good thing, there's no popularity vote at the finish line. But they are competing. Sometimes some sneakiness just sneaks on in.

We're down to four teams which means we're just about finished with the season. The remaining teams are a bit of what I've expected all along, perhaps with the exception of Brian and Ericka. I'm not all that keen on Cheyne and Megan, but I'll begrudgingly admit they're good at this. I guess I just don't like their smugness. I believe that's more Cheyne than Megan. She upped herself in my ranking tonight when she didn't want to just run off and leave the Globetrotters rudely when they saw a cab. Sure, Cheyne was right to go for the cab. But she was right that they could have done it more politely. She was also right that the Globetrotters would hold it against Cheyne.

Sam and Dan were a bit off their game tonight. When they capsized their kayak for about the 135th time, I kept wondering why they didn't switch to the aerial task in the detour. While taking Brian and Ericka's taxi cab definitely saved them time, that was a way underhanded thing to do. I was hoping the cabbie would refuse, even though I'm not rooting for a Brian and Ericka win. Of course, under pressure, the brothers are snapping at each other again. It's a wonder that all parents don't have to be institutionalized due to the bickering of their children.

I still like Flight Time and Big Easy. Yeah, Flight Time got a bit underhanded with Cheyne and Megan tonight when he deliberately slowed them down by climbing down from the aerial task slower. But, had Cheyne not gone on about him holding them up and planted the seed, he wouldn't have done it. I think I like the Globetrotters mainly because they're entertaining. The scenes at the Estates Theater were a hoot with Flight Time singing and performing ballet (kind of, sort of) as Big Easy growled at Don Giovanni every time he laughed at him. Need I mention what a good sport Don Giovanni was throughout the whole task?

Brian and Ericka are an interesting team. He's like the tortoise in "The Tortoise and the Hare." He keeps going on with a deliberate purpose while Ericka tends to freak out, get snappy, and provide the show with all kinds of new episode titles. He comes across as the most decent person left in the race. She's more along the lines of Megan, but less capable with tasks. It wouldn't surprise me if they finish last next week when we all know that the final three are the ones in the finale. They were only saved by the non-Philimination tonight.

Once again I marveled as the leg showed me around the wonderful country city of Prague and its people. Now, I know it's a city. But the brothers didn't! The Estates Theater was truly a wonder and the architecture was amazing. I love traveling vicariously through the show. On another note, I noticed the people seemed a bit frightened when the teams raced by them. That was interesting, as it usually seems that the locals know what's going on with the filming. Did you see the reactions?

Will Ericka and Brian make it to the final three?
