Fox News caught using wrong footage ... again
Remember the old saying, "Fool me once (awkward pause), shame on (another awkward pause), shame on you (another longer and more awkward pause). Fool me, we can't get fooled again"?
Less than a week after Fox News host and conservative pundit Sean Hannity apologized for accidentally using the wrong footage from Glenn Beck's "9/12 Rally" as footage for Rep. Michelle Bachmann's "Super Bowl of Freedom" rally, the network used the wrong footage in another story. This time, they used the wrong footage for a story on the "crowds" that showed up during Sarah Palin's book tour.
Think Progress, a blog created by the liberal think tank the Center for American Progress, discovered the footage. The dead giveaway was the "Country First" campaign signs indicating the footage was taken during Palin's campaign run with John McCain back in 2008. The network called the clip mix-up a mistake and issued another apology. Hold on, are we sure that they aired the right apology this time?

I typed in tvsquad.com but I got thinkprogress.org. How is that possible? Oh well, I was able to read up on the latest "bathtub boy" talking points.

Please stop refering to Fox News as a news station. They are more on par with TZM then any news organization.
And there is no "liberal Bios" as all the news channels are corprate owned. So who we kidding, they're all right leaning to some extent. If you pay attention you'll see it.

You are seriously misguided. I could not disagree more !
If you fail to see all the bias then ... oh well. It makes NO difference that they are corporate. There is an agenda that they are pushing while pretending to be fair. A bias is perfectly ok for as long as they/ you are open and honest... about the fact that thepreference is there.
I suggest you travel to other news channels besides MSNBC, CNN, CBS NBC and ABC.

Dear John,
You mean TMZ. Also 'Referring', 'Corporate', and Liberal 'Bias' are the correct spellings for the words you butchered. It is amazing to me that the people who wish to argue against entities like Fox News can't even form proper sentences. Keep enjoying the "hohp" and "chaing" that Obama is giving you.

Foxnews has as much journalistic credibility as E! or Comedy Central.

Right-wing propaganda network using whatever video footage it has to support its talking points of the day, and not following rules of responsible newsgathering or ethical journalism? I'm shocked, shocked!

Please stop posting political themed articles here. There are plenty of sources for this and I view this site as above that and as an escape from it.Already the comments are becoming an idealogical argument and that belongs elsewhere. As for FNC,even it's definition has become partisan and spun.If you care that much you belong on another site.

So I must have missed TV Squad posting when Dylan Ratigan on Mess NBC used a Photoshopped picture in a blatant attempt to smear Sarah Palin. After he was called on it he delivered a non-apology apology in which he admitted he know the picture was faked. If you want to cover this stuff at least cover all of the networks at the same volume level. Bathtub boy alone will give you a wealth of material.

You also missed the post from when MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews kept commenting that all the people at the Sarah Palin book signing were "white" as if being "white" is a crime.
I thought we were past the whole race thing, but i guess not.

I actually thing this is the fault of the on-air talent and not a grand conspiracy of Fox News trying to misrepresent crowd sizes. Gregg Jarrett doesn't belong on Fox at all. He's to FNC as Aaron Brown was to CNN. Time for him to go!

Democrats suck. No Republicans suck.
Palin sucks. No Obama sucks.
The back and forth really gets quite boring!
This story is perfectly logical to have on TVSquad.com as it is a TV related article. Now stop turning it into a political forum. This article is negative toward the mistakes made by Fox News not any particular political party.
No one is going to change another person's mind by posting pseudo-political arguments in the comments sections of a TV themed blog.
Get over yourselves.

Having a "Country First" sign isn't a dead giveaway.
I covered a Mike Huckabee book signing this past December (you know, after the election and well after McCain secured the nomination) and there were about a dozen people holding 'Huckabee '08' signs.
I even got a real good shot of one that I made sure to use in my editing.
The last time Ron Paul came through my town earlier this year, there were people still bringing out the campaign signs.
Now, I'm not saying its not a mess up, because I don't know. But I can also tell you that what MOST LIKELY happened is some editor got the script for this story and saw the words 'Palin', 'Speech' and 'Crowds' and just pulled file footage, most likely an already cut version sitting on a server somewhere.
But just because there's a campaign sign doesn't guarantee that it's old footage.

i would think the apology by Fox News for using old campaign footage would be the "guarantee that it's old footage."
or else why would they apologize?
you used a whole lot of words to prove you don't know how to read the GD article.

I was just thinking the same thing. In the news business, we used file footage all the time. We try to identify it as file, but sometimes we don't, especially if its in prepackaged material.
I could be wrong, but this feels like a lot of nothing. Any news station calling another to task for using file video is lame. Cause we all do it. That's why we keep file video.
To me the much worse case of misrepresentation was the MSNBC blunder.
Not only did they used doctored photos (which is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen) but they used it on a non-story just to make fun of Palin. When do news organizations do top ten joke lists demeaning politicians?
Cable news just becomes sadder every day.

Fox is the ONLY right-leaning news on tv; and yes, it IS a news organization, let's quit lying about that. MSNBC and the others are left-leaning, but no one is saying they aren't true news organizations. ALL of them have an agenda, and tell slanted versions of the news, stop kidding yourselves. I'm not even sure it's POSSIBLE to truly tell the news in a "fair and balanced" way. But just because a news organization is conservative, does not give liberals the right to trash it; they are even worse. Look at Rick Sanchez, Ed Schultz, and the most abominable, 'worst person in the world'--yes, Keith Olbermann. Glen Beck, Sean Hannity and Bill O'reilly have nothing on this trio of idiots. They are nothing but hit-men for the left, hired to be character assassins. Well, let me not forget 'ol Rachel Maddow, the other hit man-or a reasonable facsimile thereof.

Has anyone mentioned Al Gore's photoshopped picture on the cover of his new book, Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis" which was intentionally doctored to exaggerate the appearance of hurricanes in the northern hemisphere as well as reduce the amount of ice present in the Arctic? Yet he's the self-proclaimed expert and go-to guy for the left-wing. Anyone mention that nobody in the liberal media factchecked Obama's books? Didn't think so. Too bad bias has made its way into what was once a fun and entertaining read for TV viewers. As noted in many comments by others, TV Squad is not what it once was. Coincidence that folks are tiring of your bias like they did MSNBC, CNN and the networks? I think not.
