Michael Emerson as Ben Linus on ABC's 'Lost.'Looks like the island wasn't the only thing that got moved.

Mark your calendars, set your DVRs, and don't make any plans. The two-hour season premiere (it's called "LA X") of the sixth, and final, season of Lost has been scheduled to air on Tuesday, Februrary 2nd at 9 p.m. ET according to Executive Producer Carlton Cuse via Twitter. Cuse also confirmed that Tuesdays at 9 would be the regular time-slot in subsequent weeks.

There really isn't much to say here except wow. It feels real now, doesn't it? With only 18 hours left in the series' run, there are still so many questions left that need answering and hopefully we'll get some serious debriefing come 2/2/2010.

As for the actual scheduling, what's your take on it? Personally, I'm loving the bump up from 10 p.m. if only because it means I can start writing my episode reviews for TV Squad earlier than last season. However, there are probably plenty of American Idol and Lost fans out there who are ready to pull their hair out after hearing this news.

For those confused about the move to Tuesdays, look at it this way -- Idol may be a ratings powerhouse but the final season of Lost isn't going to be shattering any ratings records or bringing in droves of new viewers. So even if Idol kills it (and it will), big deal! The show is ending and for those that have been along for the ride, who cares when it airs? Put it on Sundays at 2 a.m. and I'd watch.
