Dancing with the Stars' final five
(S09E17) Dancing with the Stars continues to chug along having five couples become four. With such a small number, the results shows feel even more stretched out, slowly saving contestants one at a time.

Encore - Joanna & Derek - Paso Doble - Len thought that even though Mya had the higher score, the paso was so detailed that it deserved the encore. The two actually looked better with their hair tonight than last night; I could tell that it was them. On the second time around, I believed that they deserved a 30 and Mya only should have gotten a 29.

After the score breakdown, we began the elimination proceedings. I laughed when Tom pointed out that Aaron has the most inconsistent scores. He also had the most inconsistent emotions. The first couple safe is Joanna & Derek. After the commercial we get another recap of last night's show, this time with contestants' commentary.

Musical Performance - Michael Buble - "Haven't Met You Yet" - Does Michael Buble always look nervous when he performs? He was fidgeting with his microphone stand, and he kept going in and out of the the microphone's range. Luckily, the dancing from Jonathan & Anna and Maks & Cheryl was and solid.

The four remaining couples are up and the next couple in the semifinals are Mya & Dmitry.

Dance Center Part 1 - Like all Dance Centers prior, Kenny Mayne, Jerry Rice, Len Goodman and Stacy Keibler make sarcastic comments about each contestant. Joanna is a hot Polish girl. They make fun of her laugh and Derek's humping mambo. Donny gets old-person and Bruno jokes. Aaron gets poked for crying and has a hysterical montage of him in pain.

Macy's Design-A-Dance - Sabrina & Mark - Paso Doble to "Eye of the Tiger" - I'm convinced that Sabrina was chosen so that people would stop saying, "Sabrina was robbed." Sadly, the two outshone any of the remaining contestants with their passion and their intricate flip ending sequence. It was interesting to see that none of the judges were at the table making me assume that the performance was pre-taped.

Musical Performance - Michael Buble - "Feeling Good" - Michael continues to wobble through his performance, while the dancers and lights sway around him. Interestingly, the judges are back at their table and enjoyed the performance. After seeing the two professionals, I'd like to see either dance with a celebrity next year.

The eliminations continue and the third couple safe is Donny & Kym.

Musical Performance - Susan Boyle - "I Dreamed A Dream" - I love how the production team pulled out all the lights and glitter for Susan. She even got the good stage (instead of that other side B stage). Chelsie just gently swung around Tony with such ease. I could see Susan become a British Kate Smith, but we'll see how time plays out.

Dance Center Part 2 - Kelly gets jokes about bows and cursing. Dmitry gets jokes about being the celebrity. Mya gets bashed for her gimmicks. Mya has a funny montage of her beating Dmitry. They then use that vibrating football toy to predict a Mya & Dmitry win.

We finally finish the eliminations with Aaron & Karina and Kelly & Louis. After a long commercial and awkward silence, Aaron & Karina are eliminated. Kelly squeals in excitement. Aaron thanks the judges for helping him grow. Len approves of his dedication and Aaron shakes all the judges' hands; Bruno sneaks a kiss.

I'm not surprised at all, and even having Kelly near the bottom may help her voting block for next week. Anyone have a strong opinion for the elimination? Leave comments below.
