(S01E08) "It's not every day a guy turns 162 years old." - Lexi to Stefan on his birthday
What?! Nooooo! They keep bringing in these great characters and then killing them off! Hopefully, they're just stashing the bodies somewhere for a mass resurrection at some point. And, by the way, I totally did not see that coming.
The Vampire Diaries started out great and continues to get better each week. It's so beautifully dark and gloomy. I love the Salvatore's gothic digs, and Stefan is showing considerable restraint at not offing his bad, bad brother Damon.
Arielle Kebbel was fantastic as Stefan's ancient bff Lexi; so fun and strong. The whole incident with the sheriff grabbing the wrong vampire at the bar and then Damon putting his "diabolic" plan into place by killing Lexi to "save" the sheriff made me love/hate him even more And how clueless is Sheriff Forbes? I mean, come on. If anyone was a vampire in that bar, it was Damon. Just look at him.
And yet ... "We have to consider that the vampire may be walking around in the middle of the day right in front of us," she said. If vampires were so well-known back in the day, it seems like there would be plenty of records or archival stories about the Salvatores, right?
And I'm sure whatever he did to Jeremy when he erased his memory is also part of Damon's diabolical plan. Hmmm ... how can Jeremy being an upstanding kid who doesn't do drugs and does his homework be a benefit to Damon? Time will tell.
It was interesting that Elena wasn't the least bit freaked out by Bonnie's ability to raise the feathers. I guess once you learn there are vampires in town, nothing much shocks you anymore. I did really like that scene, though, and it will be interesting to see whether Bonnie uses her powers for good or evil.
A few quotes:
"It's true, Elena. Everything my gram told me is true ... I'm a witch." - Bonnie
"I'm just jealous of your restraint." - Lexi, after Stefan turns down her human blood stash
"I took away his suffering." - Damon to Elena, when asked what he did to Jeremy
"You saved my life. Now I'm sparing yours. We're even." - Stefan to Damon, after staking him and missing his heart

I'm not sure the sheriff grabbed the wrong vampire, but I may be misreading your meaning. I mean obviously we know it was Damon, but I think the victim told the sheriff it was Lexi. I assumed as soon as Damon got Caroline to have the party that he was setting Lexi up to take the fall as the vampire in town, especially since Lexi was obviously so negative towards him and had gone so far as to point out that she was stronger than him.
I thought the whole reason he attached those kids and left the girl was to get the girl to finger Lexi. He wouldn't have left her alive if he hadn't modified her memory (like with Caroline and Vikki), and when the sheriff asked her what happened, I assumed she described Lexi.
That's how I saw it, at least.
I think Lexi was awesome, so I'm sorry to see her come and go so quickly also.

Bianca Lawson was only seen briefly at the end during Bonnie's dream sequence. She's the one who said "It's coming". And from the previews for next week's episode it looks like we'll get to see even more of her. This makes me happy as I was a fan of her when she was on Buffy. Girl sure likes vampire shows, haha.

I think by wrong she meant that we all know Damon (delicious though he is) was the culprit and that Lexi was set to be the "fall-vamp". I also thought the 'do me' banter between Lexi and Damon was amusing. It is funny, the characters I thought were going to be staples in the show are getting killed off... fast! Edge of my seat. Uh, is it Thursday yet?

I like that whoever is in charge of music is a fan of Tiesto since 2 of his tracks from his new album were playing in the club for the party! Don't know if the third song was Tiesto's as well.
