(S02E08) All I'm saying is that it's about time someone took down those smug bastards in the library system. What, with their providing citizens with books and resources for free and their stupid desire to turn abandoned lots into more branches where they can sling their literacy propaganda at an unsuspecting populace. Disgusting.

I loved seeing Megan Mullally on primetime again. After the disastrous In the Motherhood (of which she was by far the best part), it's great to see her in a show I actually enjoy. As Tammy, she gives further credence to the theory that Leslie Knope isn't actually crazy: City government in Pawnee, Indiana really is as dog-eat-dog and cut-throat as she seems to think it is.

It's weird to think that Leslie wasn't around when Ron and Tammy broke up the first time. I can't imagine her being anywhere but the Parks department. I just figured she was born in City Hall, and her busy mother set up her crib in the Parks department, and that's where she remained until she was old enough to be put on the payroll.

At first, I actually bought Tammy's nice-girl act. I would totally believe that Ron would make up crazy stories about his ex to cover up the real reason they broke up. After their terrifying scene in the diner, I could see Ron letting Tammy overtake him, and it affecting his job, but I was surprised to find out that Tammy, was in fact, evil.

As soon as she did turn evil though, I loved her even more. What I love best about the Tammy character, is it seems she could come back to wreak more havoc on everyone. Mullally was great, and until she lands herself a weekly series of her own, I would be more than happy to see her in Pawnee every once and a while.

I would really like to know where the writers are trying to go with Mark and Ann, because their relationship is as stagnant as the rain water that used to collect at the bottom of the pit. I'm honestly not sure I've ever seen a more boring TV relationship than this one. I was never a fan of Ann and Andy together, or really, even Andy's character in general in season 1, but at least they were interesting. Their relationship, annoying or not, contributed to the overall story of an episode. Mark and Ann? It just seems like filler to me.

So I don't know if there's just going to be a slow burn with Mark and Ann that's going to lead to something I'd be interested in watching, or if the writers got them together and realized it was a mistake. While I don't necessarily think she should get back with Andy, mainly because his awkward attempts at wooing her are often pretty funny, I don't really see the point of her being with Mark either.
