Let's see: Bravo is owned by NBC and Bon Jovi is appearing on several NBC shows exclusively for a while, including Saturday Night Live, The Jay Leno Show, and Today (and doing a promo for all of the USA Network shows that feature a "hero"), so it's a natural that the band would appear with James Lipton on Inside The Actor's Studio, right? Right?*crickets*
Honestly, this isn't just silly, it's downright stupid. I don't care if Jon Bon Jovi has done some acting in his career, you can't tell me that he's Inside The Actor's Studio material, and you can't tell me that the one and only reason the band is on the show is because of the NBC project. But I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since one of the past guests on the show was Billy Joel.
They've had some great episodes of this show, but I'm going to predict this will not be one of them.

They have also had Jay Leno and Conan on. I don't care if Jay was in Collision Course, which no one watched. He is not an actor and neither is Conan. Then again this is NBC and there is nothing quiet like self-promotion.

They had Elton John on as well. The idea that it's an actor's studio of any kind any more is pretty laughable. I like Lipton, but his questions are softballs, and there's no craft being learned. Some of the more questionable -- i.e. marketable but not really actorly -- guests might be partly a result of the move from the New School to Pace, but I think it just is what it is. "Actors Studio" is kind of a misnomer. "James Lipton's Fawning Interview Show" might be a better title.
Maybe Bon Jovi can tell them all about his work in the seminal Vampires: Los Muertos.
