Well, we know that the singers from Glee were not welcomed into the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade thanks to NBC's territorial attitude. Still, that doesn't mean we won't be watching on Turkey Day. NBC, in fact, will feature one of their own prominently that morning -- 30 Rock's Jane Krakowski will be singing an original song on a float. It will not be a typical Jenna floppola, either. It's a song being written by the Emmy nominated team of Wesley Whatley and William Schermerhorn. And in case you don't know, Jane's a Tony-winning star who is not only hilarious as Jenna, but a really fine singer/dancer/actress.
That's not all. Alan Cumming is also set to perform in the parade, and it sounds like a doozy, too. He'll sing the Sinatra classic, "That's Life" on the M&M float. What the song, Cumming and Sinatra have to do with M&M candies is anyone's guess.
From Broadway, there'll be musical numbers from Bye Bye Birdie, Hair, Billy Elliot and Shrek. And, of course, there's the Rockettes. You want more stars?
How about Andrea Bocelli, Boys Like Girls, Billy Currington, DJ Lance Rock and the cast of Yo Gabba Gabba!, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, Gloria Gaynor, Emily Hughes, Kermit the Frog, Tiffany Thornton, Ziggy Marley with Judah Marley, Katharine McPhee, Katie Stam, the cast of Sesame Street, Mitchel Musso, Keke Palmer, The Pizzarelli Quartet, Jay Sean, and Carly Simon.
This will be the 83rd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It starts at 9 a.m. Thursday, November 26 with Today stars Matt Lauer, Meredith Viera, and Al Roker providing the commentary.

I've heard of 6 of the "stars" in your list of 20. And that includes one muppet, and one "cast of Sesame Street". Who watches these parades? I thought it was young children and older women. Will either group know half of these "stars"? My 82-year-old mother loves to watch the parade, and I know she'd recognize about the same number of "stars", maybe a few less (she certainly doesn't know who Jimmy Fallon is, and he was one of my 6). I'm half my mom's age, by the way. And the only thing in your post that would interest me enough to watch a few minutes of the parade is the group that won't be there, the cast of "Glee".

Thanksgiving is no longer a day with parades it's a day of commercials and tv plugs that pretend to be a parade.It's a string of broadway show plugs that disrupt a parade and it's become so boring to me that I either don't watch or leave the sound off while I do other things.New Years Day parades which have far far less materialistic and entertainment industry plugging and seem much more about being a parade are worth my time.

My question is always which star are they going to have freezing on the street doing the crowd interviews? Seeing the brilliance of NPH in a freezing rain storm a few years ago was the point when I realized how versatile he was, and I am always checking in to see if anyone can do better.
