It's somewhat refreshing to know that Charlie Harper is not the soulless heathen I thought he was. It turns out that Charlie does have a very spiritual side, that he's aware of the good fortune that's been bestowed on him, and he's in touch with his emotions to the point that he can cry.

So what could make Charlie Harper cry? Find out after the jump.

I don't think a man could understand how uncomfortable it can be for a woman like Chelsea. I mean, sure she has a beautiful pair of breasts, but they're literally a pain. The pain is in her back, and that prompted Alan to offer his advice. Remember, he's a chiropractor, thanks to Evelyn paying his way through some South of the Border chiropractic school.

You would think Alan would know better by now than to stick his schnozz into Charlie's affairs, but alas, he doesn't. Since no good deed goes unpunished, Charlie banished him from the premises. You know, I'm surprised Charlie hasn't paid to send Alan away before. He claims to have more money than he knows what to do with!

I was shocked that Chelsea didn't smack Charlie in the doctor's office. He was beyond rude and completely oblivious to her discomfort. Sure, it's comedy, but really. Also, the idea that he lives with pain because he's so well-endowed is ridiculous; it's not the same. Just the idea that Charlie considered Chelsea's boobs his boobs was enough for me to have smacked him.

So the lesson of the episode was that the Lord works in mysterious ways. Charlie has a heart to heart talk with the Almighty to ask for His intervention. It seems unlikely that Charlie will get his way, but he does. All it took was an off-hand comment about Chelsea's butt and suddenly she could live with the pain. I don't know if I bought that, but it was a funny twist that I didn't see coming. Chelsea's almost as superficial as Charlie, apparently.

In other business, Berta and Jake's bilking a few bucks out of Charlie on a bet was predictable. So was Evelyn's diabolic way to dislodge Alan from her home. All in all, though, Alan did pretty well. He got some new clothes from Mommy and kept the cash from Charlie. He even had a few days off from Jake. That's a win-win-win for AH.

Funny Stuff

"Breakfast of champions, Type 2 diabetes division." -- Alan about Jake's lunch

"The only acceptable boob reduction in this house is you moving out." -- Charlie to Alan

"I want to see you happy, and not dressed like an unemployed lesbian." -- Evelyn to Alan after offering to take him shopping for clothes

Charlie: "What about your back pain?
Chelsea: "I'll live with it."
Charlie: "Are you sure?"
Chelsea: "I live with you, don't I?"
