Former According to Jim star Jim Belushi is moving to a drama series. He's been tapped to star in a legal drama created by Murphy Brown mastermind Diane English and Homicide and Oz exec-producer Barry Levinson. The show is loosely based on the memoir "How Can You Defend These People?" by TV commentator and lawyer Mickey Sherman.This is an excellent way for Belushi to wash the stench of According to Jim from his person. If presented as a dramedy (much like many of the popular dramas today), this could be a winner.
In fact, based on Diane English's involvement, the character will likely be some sort of smart-ass (and probably have a myriad of pop culture and/or political references thrown into his dialogue).
If you've seen Belushi's performance in the movie Red Heat with Ah-nuld, then you know he can do this sort of role. If it's done well, then I can forgive him for the vapid pablum that was his sitcom.

I've always liked Jim Belushi, even though According To Jim overstayed its welcome.
It will be nice to see him get some material that will challenge him. I'll be tuning in!

I have to agree, I would probably watch as well. Belushi is a favorite of mine and yes I really wasn't thrilled with more than two seasons of his sitcom. It got boring fast.
