One of my favorite actresses is joining the cast of America's most watched drama series. That means about 20 million viewers a week will get to see her in action. The actress is Rena Sofer and she's been cast on NCIS as a hard-nosed, no-nonsense lawyer. The role could be long term or recurring, they're not saying yet.In fact, they're not giving much away at all. Not even the character's name or when she starts. Thus far, it's hard to see where a lawyer would be needed in the current storylines, so it's likely that there's an arc on the way that will bring her along as a key element.
Rena has a load of primetime experience, having appeared on Heroes, 24, Couples, Blind Justice, Just Shoot Me... but for me she was never better than when she was on General Hospital as Lois Cerullo.
As a tough-talking, Brooklyn native with a heart of gold and plenty of New York attitude, she was superb. She won a Daytime Emmy in 1995 for her performance.
Speaking of soaps, Rena was also on Loving, either right before or at the same time as her new NCIS costar, Michael Weatherly. She played Rocky; he played Cooper.
Hmm... could NCIS be looking to put the two together on screen? Tony taking on the lady lawyer? Sounds very A Few Good Men to me, with Rena in the Demi Moore (another GH graduate) role and Tony in the Tom Cruise part. Does that make Gibbs, Jack Nicholson? Nah... not Jethro.

She has eyes to get lost in...goodness...and can you see her and Weatherly in a "get Ziva jealous" storyline,along with her as a lawyer in some arc too.She is really soild and it's good to see her around again.

I realize she is beautiful, but frankly the actresses that play Ziva and Abby can act rings around her. For me, the parts I dislike about NCIS is when Tony is being stupid with some woman - which is all the time. His behavior is often just disgusting and disrespectful. So now we get to watch him with another woman who will think it's cute/charming to be treated like meat - oops sorry for the rant...

I have to agree with Punk and MD. A beautiful, "hard-nosed, no-nonsense lawyer" tends to be a cliche and used more to stir up drama between the romantic leads rather than adding anything to the show concerning plot. I was not a fan of her in Coupling and I should think that NCIS, unlike NCIS:LA, should be above such tired teen-like ratings tricks at this point -
