(S06E11) Project Runway finally explained why different people won challenges this season instead of just Irina and Althea winning all of them. This week's challenge was to make a companion piece to the contestants' winning looks. Unfortunately, Logan has never won a challenge. With one day and $100, they had to make it work.
On paper, the challenge sounds like an interesting way of thinking of cohesive collections. Most of these designers have an aesthetic (Carol Hannah doesn't like pants, Christopher likes full skirts). For Gordana, Christopher, and Logan, the companion pieces that they made neither complimented, nor improved on their original outfits.

Sadly, Logan had no other choice for outfits, with one being made out of paper, two team challenges, a pregnancy dress, two costume pieces, and the only other pieces were in the bottom three. While Carol Hannah takes a coffee break, everyone starts working. Tim's advise came a little early. Althea's pants looked like a diaper without tailoring. Christopher's dress looked motherly (he never did solve that). Gordana's unfinished look needs to be riskier.
The rest of the episode consisted of people complaining about their competitor's pieces. Althea complained that she already made the zipper collar that Logan was making. Irina was a little upset about Althea's sweater looking like hers. There were also complaints that Carol Hannah can only do skirts. At least she has played with varying length of her dresses.
Along with Heidi and Nina, our guest judges were season two contestant Nick Verreos and Kerry Washington. As the models walked down, I couldn't help but think that Carol Hannah's dress didn't translate on camera; I didn't see the connection between the original dress and the dress she had this week. The biggest problem I had with Gordana's final piece was the fact that the piece looked like a 40-year-old was trying to dress a 20-year-old. The simple skirt looked like a throwaway. If Christopher didn't even have the white portion of the dress, it would have been mature, but still channeling the original dress. We also found out on Models of the Runway that Kalyn may or may have not kept her dress up with some double stick tape.
During judging, Irina unleashed her bitchy attitude in front of the judges complaining about the similarity of Althea and her oversized sweaters. The thing that Althea did right was vent about it and let it slide in front of the judges. The judges are clients; it's up to the judges if they want to call them out. In the end, isn't imitation a form of flattery?
The high scores were Irina (uptown), Althea (casual, great proportions), and Carol Hannah (youthful). I smell final three. Althea was announced the winner. The lower scorers were Christopher (bottom heavy), Gordana (not fun), and Logan (student project). Logan's silver pants didn't save him this time, and he was sent home.

The right person went home and Carol Hannah is next. Irina's observations come in as she finally realized her only real competition is also tall and blonde, so the presentation will be swayed by the personality. I got Christopher as the other finalist (the only guy left), with Gordana also showing at Bryant Park in the fine tradition of the show announcing three but showing four.

I agree that Logan was the right one to go tonight but have a hard time believing that both Gordanna and Christopher would make it to Bryant Park over Carol Hannah. She may be a 'one note' but has never been called on it and consistently executed each and every design.
I predict Irina, Carol Hannah and Althea as the true final three with Althea pulling off the come-from-the-middle- they-edited-that-way winner.
Personally, I'm for Carol Hannah. I think Irina is immensely talented but she's too obvious to be the winner of this show. Althea is often edited as clueless but she performs.
I don't know who goes out first between Gordanna or Christopher and frankly don't care. I REALLY like them both as they've been portrayed as underdogs but we're down to the wire and it's time for them both to go.

Hmmmmmm Both Logan and Gordana presented sub-par garments, so it came down to worse and worser. I was sad to see Logan go b/c he has been such fun to have on the show and fit in with the other designers far more easily than did Gordana. That, however, is no reason to make a decision in his favor. Both garments were well made and showed reasonably well. Gordana's would have been worn by a woman 40+ or a very nerdy younger woman. Logan's was actually more 'cutting edge' as he took some chances with it. I am sure a younger, hip, risk-taking young woman would have worn it.
Logan really disappointed me. He had some decent designs at the beginning of the show, and then it seemed he went steadily downhill, whereas Gordana has shown some improvement albeit not clothing that really is fashionable (altho, with due respect, it might be very fashionable in Bosna or other Slavic countries). I keep getting the feeling that her design ideas have never moved on from the Slavic/Baltic area.
That said, between the two of them, Logan was probably the RIGHT choice.......but WHY oh WHY do they continue to refuse to 'auf' Christopher? I love him and think he adds a lot to the show.....but does he have a clue what he is doing? The judges rip his designs to shreds, put him in the bottom 2/3, and then let him stay another week. Things like that do nothing to convince the viewers that the show isn't manipulated.

I find this season unbelievably disappointing. The talent is definitely less than what we've seen in the past. I struggle to find a likable designer, either based on character or talent. Talent-wise, Irina is the strongest, but I can't get past her arrogant, bitchy attitude. Makes the final episodes less interesting when you don't have someone you are really pulling for that deserves to be at Bryant Park.

Agree with Wallflower -- this season is weak tea. I'm pretty stunned at how terrible most of them are. In the past, it felt like a struggle to see who they could possibly let go. This season, Logan made it to spitting distance of BP. And Christopher is still in the running.
That said, Irina is probably one of the most talented we've seen on the show, ever. I don't like her personality either, but her attitude is not really relevant. And no one can be worse than the nutcase in the final three from last season. Irina is a stellar designer.

As much as I like Logan, he really did deserve to go this week. Of course don't get me started on Christopher being in the bottom for like four weeks in a row and still being around. Yes, he didn't deserve to go home last night, but he should've been gone weeks ago. C'est la vie.
It will be between Irina and Althea to win it all. BUT I'm sort of pulling for Gordana ONLY BECAUSE Matar is my favorite model and want her to win the model competition.

The problem with Models of the Runway is that I like all the models that are/were paired with bad designers.
I loved Celine's goofiness, Matar's demeanor (it's that cool voice) and hair, and Kojii, but I knew when they were paired with Logan, Nicolas, or Gordana they were screwed. They kept getting pieces that one doesn't feel confident in and that's no way a representation of the girls as models/people. Kojii did her damnedest to make Logan's turd look like a diamond during judging this week with fierce angles and direct stares at the judges.
On the other hand, I love both Althea's and Irina's design, but I find Tanisha (best walk) and Kayln (most photogenic) to have the most model potential and the least need to win this show. Both don't need to walk fiercely (Tanisha is amazing though) to show off well tailored, fashionable clothes.
I hope the models are all rewarded with opportunities, but I'm rooting for the model underdogs.

I think I'm just as anxious about Bryant Park as the designers and models are but for a completely different reason then them. I'm completely bored with this season, there's no designer I'm rooting for, no designer I can't wait to see what they come up with, no designer I'm screaming at my tv set for the judges to kick off. . .they're all just, eh in my opinion.

Irina is a horrible bitch, and maybe her designs don't translate well on screen, because she hasn't done anything to blow me away.
Althea is just dumb as a box of rocks, and I hated both of her winning designs. I don't think either looked good at all.
Carrol Hannah is nice, but too nice. She doesn't have the competitive edge that makes interesting TV, and her designs are good, but again, not great.
Gordana doesn't belong there. She's not as creative as everyone else. Christopher is just a big cry baby. How many episodes has he ended up balling on the runway.
I just don't care about anyone here and don't find anyone's designs to be worth all the fuss.

Once Ra’mon & Epperson were gone, I no longer have a horse in this race. Carol Hannah seems nice so I'll root for her, but Irina will win it all in the end but will spend her Bryant Park time backstage since this was shot months and months ago while Bravo was suing the Weinsteins.
