(S06E03) "I don't know... she must've thought I was someone else." - Teddy

Season six of Nip/Tuck, congratulations -- you have arrived. After two enjoyable, but largely disposable episodes to start the season, the focus has finally returned to the one dangling plot from season five -- Rose McGowan's Dr. Teddy Rowe. While it took some guesswork to recall everything the two-faced (three-faced?) anesthesiologist has done (the "previously on" sequence lacked anything to jog your memory since the season five Teddy was played by Katee Sackhoff), "Briggitte Reinholt" did a pretty decent job of explaining her past sins.

While Sackhoff brought a fun-loving attitude to Teddy, McGowan's interpretation of the black-widow has been played much closer to her chest. Until now. With news of her and Sean's quickie wedding, her plan is in full swing, but unfortunately for Teddy, Sean still isn't playing along.

She's done everything right -- signed a pre-nup to gain his trust and the even let it slip that she planned to to put all her financial holdings in his name in the hopes that he would do the same for her. That ploy worked... sort of. He doubled his insurance but still left Connor and Annie as the sole beneficiaries. Teddy's solution? Invite the kids to town and kill them too! Anything to get her name on that beneficiary document, though I don't know how concerned about life insurance Sean is going to be with two dead kids on his mind.

McGowan is really nailing this role right now. The look on her face when she stared down Annie in bed, plotting ways to kill her was flawless and she was even creepier in the transvestite mask when she off'd Briggitte (the one woman who can link her to "Dixie," her Vegas pseudonym) with the leeches.

A few more thoughts --

• Not really buying the Kimber/Mike relationship. I'm not trying to say it's not real, but I'm not putting much stock in it. Sean nailed it when he told Christian that he and Kimber were the male and female version of the same person. They're going to end up together and Mike is just another bump in that road.
• Kudos to bringing Annie back into the fold with an illness that was both logical, given her stress about her parents' divorce, yet still fit within the confines of the Nip/Tuck shock factor. Rapunzel syndrome? Wow.

Also worth mentioning is the very well done "mask" montage that featured Steve the transvestite and his woman mask, Matt applying his mime make-up, and Teddy, rummaging through her closet and throwing out a ton of wigs. Everyone is hiding something and thus far, Teddy has proven that the skeletons in her closet are the most interesting. Here's to hoping this doesn't turn into a repeat of Colleen Rose though.
