Craig Ferguson is not just a consummate entertainment professional. He's a five armed plate spinner, a punchline deliverer with a Jack Dempsey right cross, a Horatio Alger of guffaws. He puts his whole being into every late night show and comedy performance he does that he could even make an audience laugh if they were in total darkness.
Sound like a bigger tall tale than Pecos Bill taking Amelia Earhart to the homecoming prom? Here's the proof. His Late Late Show suffered a power outage towards the end of Tuesday night's episode and he still stepped in front of the camera with only a flashlight to serve as his comedy spotlight. This convinces me that if a bull suddenly got loose in the studio, Ferguson could use the moment to make the audience laugh until they are gasping for life while teaching the bull English just so he could beat an apology out of it. Chuck Norris never made me laugh, intentionally.

Cameras are powered from the control room, which would be on generator power. (Broadcast cameras use what is called "triax" cable for the connection to the control room. Triax supplies power to the camera, returns video from the camera to the control room, and also carries intercom audio, teleprompter data, and camera automation commands.)
Microphones: wireless microphones are battery powered. Wired microphones are powered using 12V phantom power over the microphone cable, Phantom power is provided from the mixing board, which would usually be near the control room and also on generator.

I agree. I really enjoy Craig's comedy & find his on-the-spot creativity and spontaneity refreshing from other scripted prorgrams. One nightly tradition is Craig tearing up the card of prepared questions for each night's guests.
Aside from his comedic presence, I have to keep watching the program to see the next piece of cruddy equipment to fall apart during a show. The building's electricity has gone out more than once. The ceiling leaks above the audience when it rains. I'm sure there were other instances but I cannot recall them right now.

And Jason's right about the equipment - in May he lovingly tapped the camera like he always does and it shattered. It was hilarious though, and, like the black out, he made the best of it and the show went on...

Ferguson is the most interesting and entertaining late night talk show host on TV today! Sometimes I laugh so hard I cry. Other times when the jokes aren't as funny as the night before, I still watch to see him improvise though it all. It's addicting! He makes me smile and, to me, that's what entertainment is supposed to do.

The light focused on the right 'guest' chair also goes out from time to time. Craig moves the guest into the left guest chair and sits in the right one himself. This happened one night when Jim Parsons was on, and it was hilarious.
