FlashForwardThe "Ask TV Squad" column, published every Wednesday, answers your questions about current and past TV shows, as well as about the celebrities appearing on TV. Every week, I will pick a question (or more) sent to us and provide answers in the column. If your question is not picked for a column, it may be answered in a subsequent column or in TV Squad's APB Podcast. To submit questions to the "Ask TV Squad" column, you can post them below in comments or email them at asktvsquad@gmail.com.

This week, I answer questions about Jamie Ray Newman, FlashForward, Friday Night Lights and Surviving Disaster.

Q. xnifex asks "Why can't Jaime Ray Newman do both Eastwick and Eureka? Hell the only reason I'm checking out Eastwick is because of her. But yeah, she should just do both."

A. Technically, she could appear on both shows. Eastwick will soon wrap up the shooting of the 13 episodes ABC ordered. If ABC doesn't order more episodes (aka cancels the series), this would free up her schedule to appear on Eureka, if the show wants her to come back that is. However, if ABC orders more episodes, it's unlikely Jaime Ray Newman would juggle both series as she is a regular on Eastwick and was a pretty important character on Eureka, which equals to a pretty busy schedule.

That said, if Eastwick gets more episodes and Eureka desperatly wants the actress back, even for one episode or web cam appearances here and there (her character and Carter could chit chat via web cams to keep up to date), both shows could try to work something out. It's been done for other shows and other actors, why not Jaime Ray Newman?

Q. Cammo asks "Who is the artist and what is the song played on FlashForward episode from 10/1/09 in the scene just before he goes into the hospital room to tell his son the truth about mom?"

A. The episode in question is 1.02, "White to Play." According to most websites that list songs played in episodes, Dave Matthews' "Gravedigger" and "Place to Be" from Nick Drake were played in the episode. Wikipedia mentions that "Gravedigger" played twice: once at the beginning and once when Mark and Demetri meet Sheriff Keegan in Utah. None of the sites I've visited say when "Place to Be" played in the episode but it could very well be in the scene you mention.

Q. JTL asks "When Friday Night Lights will start airing?"

A. According to TheFutonCritic.com, a great site to know if series are canceled or not and when episodes will air, season four premieres tonight, October 28, on DirecTV. The press release announcing seasons four and five of the series, each composed of 13 episodes, confirms that NBC will air the episodes at a later date but doesn't say when. If they do the same as last season, the season premiere on NBC would air in February but due to the Olympics, I see it starting in March.

Q. Brian asks "Surviving Disaster is one my new favorite reality shows, has there been any talks about a season 2?"

A. Spike TV's Surviving Disaster will conclude its first season of ten episodes on November 10. The network has yet to decide if the series will be renewed or not. I suggest you keep an eye on the TheFutonCritic.com's Surviving Disaster page to know the network's decision in the coming weeks. They will update the show's status (on the right of the page) as soon as the network sends out a press release about the show.
