(S03E07) "Time to get to work ruling the Kingdom." - JennyIt was only a matter of time before Jenny started acting like a real Queen Bee. Mind you, even after this week's events, Jenny is still nowhere near as evil as Blair was, but she is definitely not Little J anymore.
While Jenny ruled her kingdom, Chuck tried to do the same with the launch of his new club. He wanted to launch his club honestly and by himself. As expected, things didn't go as planned, but that doesn't mean he isn't happy with the end product, eh?
Jenny
As a spoilers finder/giver, I knew for weeks that Little J would turn into a Mean Girls-type of Queen Bee. The world of a teen in high school is not an easy one, and having to live up to Queen Bee expectations adds extra pressure; therefore, I can understand why Jenny acted the way she did in this week's episode.
However, I'm not happy that we are once again losing Little J (remember last year's fiasco when she decided to leave home and work for Blair's mother?) and that she is hurting Eric in the process. I'm not blind, I know that Jenny cannot remain "Little J" forever and ever, especially since this is a TV show that feeds on drama and backstabbing. I hope that the writers learned from the bad storyline they gave Jenny last season and will make her Queen Bee storyline more interesting and intriguing.
I wonder if Eric and Jonathan will keep on pushing Jenny's limits in upcoming episodes. They are the less messed up characters of the show, and it would be great to see them try to break the Queen Bee system down once and for all so that we get Little J back.
Chuck and Blair
I was bummed that we didn't get to see how/why Chuck forgave Blair for making him kiss a guy. Of course, I was relieved when it was clear Chuck still had a grudge against Blair and didn't fully trust her, so we would see her try to regain his full trust.
Blair is great at scheming, but sometimes she doesn't think before acting, or should I say, before reacting. Blair was so crushed by the fact Chuck didn't seek her help to launch the club that she reached out to the one person Chuck would have never asked help from: Jack. Did she really think that Chuck would have never learned the truth about Jack's involvement, even if the license had turned out to be real?! Come on Blair, you are brighter than that!
As expected, Chuck is not a happy camper when he learns the truth about the liquor license. But, even if he doesn't want to admit it, Chuck and Blair are a team and they are a pretty great and fierce one when they work hand in hand. Not only did they call the cops on Chuck's club, but they made it so that the club would get publicity which would also benefit the hotel.
The secret club storyline could end up being quite interesting, especially if they get big names to be part of the secret club. There could be a lot of backstabbing, blackmail and business deals in the mix. What do you think?
Serena
I so want to keep hating Serena as I used to the past two seasons. But, as I've pointed out in previous reviews this season, I'm sort of starting to like her and her storylines. Again this week, it was interesting to see her swim the tricky waters of a publicist's world: she showed creativity, quick thinking, scheming, etc.
Somehow, I think that the new line in her job description -- publicly date Patrick -- will bite her in the you know what. I get a bad vibe from him, even if lovable Olivia used to date him. What do you think of Patrick? Share your opinions of the man in comments below.

i don't get why Jenny doesn't understand that she rules her minions and not the other way around. when Blair was Queen B, her friends were immune to the rules. Jenny could have easily spun it so Eric and his friend were untouchables, since he is her brother now.

you are so right.
Blair would probably adjust rules to her own pleasing. Jenny should say Eric and his boyfriend were untouchables, and that's that. period.
God, she needs to retrieve her brain back from Brooklyn.
