Supposedly he was going into "rehab" for the heart transplant.My guess would be he'll "return" sometime around the holidays.I'm not surprised he;s not leaving as it was never made very clear how that was going to be handled.There was talk of recasting yet Bell said he was "the one and only" Victor.And the rehab storyline made his death difficult to pull off,I think they never really expected him to actually leave.Also if you read a bit between the lines,he now has a 3 year contract and I'd bet anything in three years,when Eric is in his early 70's,Victor will die.

I thought it was a publicity stunt originally and I still think that's all it was to rile people up. He never had any intention of leaving nor did Melody T Scott. THEY ARE THE SHOW!

I'm surprised they worked things out. Daytime seems to be a bit cut throat now days. That said, I was a big 'Days' fan too until they fired Hall and Drake. Those 2 weren't given a pay cut option. Just wrote out. Sent to Europe. lol Like Victor was. Yet, after losing 'Guiding Light' I've come back to Days and I was determined to stick it out for Y&R. I would have loved to see how Y&R got out of the Victor mess. BTW, a contract don't mean a thing. Those pesky 'cycles clauses' are still there I'm sure. Ole Eric B. better look out for that one again. lol

Eric is quite outspoken about everything, so I believe SONY
found out "Power to the People" in this economy means something!!! He had a great deal to do with Melody being rehired when they wanted to fire her outright. Maybe this was supposed to be retribution.

I HATE ICKTOR. From what I've read, his portrayer is nearly as insufferable. I would like to see Icktor pay for his crimes/misdeeds for once. Making him a 'hero' for what he did was laughable, considering he set it all in motion. As a result of merely bringing Patty to town, his granddaughter was brain damaged, and a young woman, whom he had set out to destroy recently, just for not being a "Newman" is dead. To add to this chutzpah, her heart now beats in his chest! I woud not miss him if he didn't return, but if he did, I hope he loses EVERYTHING.
As for the actor, did he not see this coming? Two other veterans---his female costar & Jess Walton, both of whom are far more talented than he is--went through this easrlier this year, & DOOL fired its icon veteran couple not long ago.

VICTOR is Y&R. My deceased parents watched Y&R everyday of their 20+ years of retirement, even taking a small TV to my brother's new house 100 miles away, so they could watch it while painting! Now that is dedication. I don't get to watch it that often, but I would have stopped totally if they had written out Nikki, Jack, Catherine, Jill, or the sexy, mischievous, handsome ne'er do good Victor. How can anyone not love this man's antics? He is hot no matter how dastardly he becomes!!Hey, he's got the heart of a young 20 year old....he should really be able to cause some havoc now!!!

i was outrage when it was first announced he was leaving . i love y&r . my favorite characters from all the soaps always been victor and nikki, i am glad the fans had a voice some actors can not be replaced . please get rid of adam and let sharaon get her baby back now . ashley needs to learn what adam did and get out of the ranch thats is victor and nikkis home and always will be . way to go fans i love victor ,eric braeden is a great actor

I must say that the last few months have been very confusing for Y & R. In one program Victor supposedly died. That was on a Friday. On Monday he was walking around his hospital room. Ooooookkkkkkk. There was never an explanation as to what happened. I thought "Oh God, the writers are striking again". Victor's character is that of a man who has too much money and power. Sometimes he uses it wisely, sometimes not. But I do want to tell the writers that the show has been too sad lately. We need some happiness in our lives. They need to quit killing people off and show something good is happening in these people's lives. I know this is not real, but I had to buy stock in Kleenex.

I'M SO GLAD THAT HE'S STAYING. I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THE Y&R FOR 20 ISH YEARS. VICTOR AND NIKKI ARE THE Y&R. PRODUCERS COULD NOT REPLACE THE TWO IF THEY HAD TO.. IT'S ALSO TIME TO GET RID OF ADAM. THIS STORY LINE HAS GONE WAY TOO FAR. GIVE SHARON AND NIK THEIR BABY BACK, SEND ASHLEY PACKING AND LET VICTOR AND NIKKI CONTINUE THEIR LIVES AT THE RANCH!!!!

Please keep Victor. Money can be saved by getting rid of Adam(quickly, please). Then stupid Ashley can leave the show again by returning to the Bold & Beautiful or just going back into a psychiatric ward, forever, once she learns what Adam did to her real pregnancy. She is way too stupid to be keeping Sharon's baby. Also please consider getting rid of pitiful Amber, crazy Gloria and grinning Billy. All of their story lines are unbelieveable and difficult to watch.

Victor and Nikki are becoming boreing with all of their back and forth, if he stays you need a new story line for him, and not with Nikki. Victor has done so much damage and so has Adam, when will they pay for their crimes? Please don't make Nick like his father, forever running back to Sharon, like Victor and Nikki's back and forth.

Victor must not leave the show. He is the show. He is still so very sexy and at the top of his game. What Y&R need to do is to start uncovering some of Adam's doings... this will definitely spice things up. Victor & Nikki were meant to be. So let them be. Also we need more of the Australian hunk and his wife.
