If you can, imagine Fran Fine from The Nanny saying these words, "Oh my gawd..." because that's the voice in my head when I read that Real Housewives' Teresa Guidice is losing her New Jersey mansion to foreclosure. The table-flipping mother of four, who was shown moving into the palatial, marble-laden manse during the first season of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey, is behind in her mortgage and DLJ Mortgage Capital filed papers in Superior Court of New Jersey this week to begin foreclosure.
How is this possible? During the show, Joe was paying for everything in cash. The hundred dollar bills were being distributed like they were singles in a strip club. Joe was making it rain.
Perhaps the recession has actually hit the New Jersey millionaires, the same way it has the ladies in Atlanta -- who've also been moving to avoid foreclosure -- as well as Orange County.
Teresa was one of the more colorful New Jersey wives, especially when she lost it at the "last supper" with the group and flipped the table because of Danielle's actions. It was such an extreme moment that Bravo reran it over and over again. Teresa became known as table-flipper Teresa. Now, if they foreclosure happens, she'll be known as the table-flipper, foreclosed upon Teresa.
No, seriously, it's not funny that the Guidices might lose their home. It was a lot more home than they needed and it looked like they were throwing their money around, but there's nothing fun about foreclosure. I'm sure when the show resumes in 2010, Teresa will have a lot to tell us about what happened.
Update: According to the NJ.com, it's not Teresa's mansion that's being foreclosed upon, but another Guidice property five miles from the house. Therefore, there will be no table-flipping or flipping out over this business.

Funny how people think that foreclosure is a sad thing. For most people like you and me, it s a tragedy. But for some other, it s a strategic move. You know that some people don't hesitate to walk away from an underwater mortgage because they think that it s not worth paying up for a property that is worth less than what is owned and that would take years to get back to regular prices. All those people want is instant gratification. They just walk away , mail the key to the bank and that s all. And they do it having well enough money to keep paying if they really wanted to. Of course it is totally possible that recession hit the family but it seems a little extreme to go from full on glamorous lifestyle to foreclosed living in an apartment lifestyle. Let's wait but i have a funny feeling about it.

What happened to her "family" that everyone is always talking about? Can't they loan her a few bucks to save the house? They should put their money into their house instead of acting lessons for their little ugly brats and thousands of dollars spent on hair, makeup and clothes for a 6 year old. I don't feel sorry for them one bit. They need to get their priorities straight.

This "Teresa" chic is indeed a "pot calling the kettle black." She was always ready to open her very loud, obnoxious mouth and look down her crooked nose at others. She and her "juicy" Joe (according to her, NOT me) are now going to get a taste for what it's really like to struggle a little. Anytime someone is so quick to brag and so readily show others their "riches" it usually means the opposite - they don't usually have what they claim to have. Case in point, foreclosed Guidice's!

Maybe she can go get a job at THE BROWNSTONE?? Im sure Dina & Caroline can talk to their hubby's and get her a job say as a "coat check"? Bussing tables? Maybe Valet parking?? Just tell her to smile a lot and try not to talk to much...Her Hubby can maybe get a part time job to help out. I think there is a good fitness center in their area, looking for a "dumb bell"

I was suspicious when I heard her say during one episoe that she paid for everything in cash "because of the economy". People who actually have money don't worry about the method used to pay for things.

Payback, like Teresa, is a beeotch. No pity for self-centered, self-important fakers. Maybe they should be on a show about idiots who live beyond their monetary means, "The Homeless Phony Non-Housewives of WhereEver." Would ANYBODY be stupid enough to watch that?? Prabably!!!! I've been out of work for 5 months, and I still managed to pay off MY mortage, but then I don't have marble floors and counter-tops, or throw away $100's like these idiots. Good luck to them.

It never ceases to amaze me - I remember seeing her taking her little girls to some exclusive shop, and the eldest one wanted practically EVERYTHING in the store, and she wanted it NOW!! Spoiled little princess raising 5 more spoiled little princesses. Look where her overspending has gotten her. I'm sure the kids won't go hungry, though. It wouldn't surprise me if they had sheltered assets stashed somewhere.
