NBC News political editor Chuck Todd had a bet with ABC's Jake Tapper about the outcome of the NLCS, and Todd lost. The deal was this: if Todd lost, he's have to shave off his trademark goatee. If Tapper lost, he'd have to grow one. Todd appeared on Today with White House press secretary Robert Gibbs. Did he shave it off?

The caption for that picture should be "Turn your head to the right and cough". I wonder if Chuck has been right about anything this year ...

As of Nightly News on Friday 10/23, he still has facial hair. And by the way, it's not a goatee; it's a Van Dyke.

I was really disappointed that Chuck Todd did not honor his bet and shave off his facial hair. My father always told me that you are no better than your word. The bet was made and I'm sure that if the results had been opposite, Mr. Todd would be insisting that the debt be paid. I know he has lost my trust, since he is not a man of his word. He is an example to others by his position in the news world. What kind of an example is he setting? You can bet anything and if the bet doesn't go your way, you don't have to honor it. It's only facial hair, after having paid his debt, it will grow back.
