The "Ask TV Squad" column, published every Wednesday, answers your questions about current and past TV shows, as well as about the celebrities appearing on TV. Every week, I will pick a question (or more) sent to us and provide answers in the column. Q. Helene asks "After a reader's comments, there are a few symbols there including a thumbs up and thumbs down. What do they mean and where on your website does it explain what we are to do with these symbols? One comment I found to be offensive and gross, how do I bring it to your attention for removal?"
A. There are currently no section on our site that explains what these icons are used for.
Every comment is given to stars to start with. As people use the thumbs up and down to rate a comment they liked or didn't like, the number of stars change.
The usage of the thumbs up and down will also slightly affect the order of comments. For example, a comment that has no star normally appears on the bottom while a comment with three stars appears on top. Note that replies to a comment and how these replies are rated by voters also affect the order of comments.
Finally, you asked how to bring an offensive post to our attention. Simple, click on the "!" icon on the right. Clicking on this report icon, it will flag the post in the comments management section of our blogging software and a member of the TV Squad team will review the post and remove it if it is indeed offensive.
Q. Nick asks "What ever happened to TV Squad Daily with Brigitte? Assuming she no longer works at TV Squad, what is she doing?"
Brigitte is still very involved in the world of blogging and video blogging. You can find her latest entries on her own website at www.brigittedale.com. Q. Mary asks "How can I get TV Squad to review a show that you currently do not review?"
A. As mentioned in our FAQ, we cannot review every show. There are too many TV shows and not enough of us. If you would like us to take into consideration adding reviews for a show you like and that we don't currently cover, use the TV Squad comments form. If we get enough people demanding coverage of a specific show, we will evaluate if reviews for said show would be worth it or not for the site (i.e., getting enough views for these reviews). If so, we find someone on the team to review the show.

Seems to me it would be a novel idea to choose one show a week that usually doesn't get reviewed and run a quick review or post an article about said show. This would give shows outside your usual set of blog entries a chance and you could take note of the number or lack thereof of comments that appear after the article/review is done.
re: stars and thumbs up/down , I didn't notice a mention of how the comments will fade after a certain number of negative (thumbs down) votes are logged. Its a good way to get a comment you don't necessarily like obliterated without having it flagged. This seems to be especially handy to members who disagree with a comment , usually about politics.

I don't have a question to ask this week, but I did want to throw in a big thumbs up to this new feature on the site, and also the return of the APB podcast! TV Squad continues to be the only blog I read regularly, so keep up the great work!
